May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

I want to share my story, to bring awareness and show that no matter the persons situation, you never know what’s going on behind the closed doors. It can be invisible.

For me, I’ve been battling with depression since I was 12. It came and went in phases, some years better than others. I decided to ignore it, I thought I could be tough enough and I would just get better. That was never the case. Even now as a 21 year old, dealing with depression isn’t easy. Feeling alone I made a rash decision that nearly costed me my life, I thank God that I am here today, he gave me a second chance and I want to help other people realize that they are not alone. That’s it’s okay to get help. It’s not weak to feel like this. So, if someone reading this needs to hear it. Reach out, ask for help, there ARE people that love you. Never second guess that.
