COOP members were granted a special walkthrough of member and curatorial director Sai Clayton’s (@sai_tries) solo exhibition at @radarprojects615. This week’s COOP member residency @arcadeartsnash is Theresa Buffo (@studiobuffo11). Buffo was born in Canton, Ohio and is a visual artist and designer working in Nashville, TN. Her work includes appliqué where painted organic shapes from salvaged textiles are collaged, giving life to otherwise stagnant items. She combines fabrics, yarn, ribbons, fabric and leather, as embellishments, layering paint on pattern. With a background in fashion product design, stitching, folding, and unraveling are natural extensions to the painted surface. Visit us Saturday for our second opening of A Month In Motion, an exhibition from COOP x @oasisbikeworks of custom bicycles, art, and photography created by participants in the Oasis Youth Summer Internship Program. Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of summer cycling in Nashville, this show reflects the changing landscape of neighborhoods, unexpected encounters, and the heightened awareness of place that accompanies movement on two wheels.About the Artists:A collective of Nashville students, ages 13–16, participate in a month-long internship. Their work grows from the exploration of Nashville by bicycle while learning the art and mechanics of bike building. Each artist completely rebuilds a bicycle from the ground up—from disassembly, repair, and replacement of components before custom painting the frame.📍 Join us THIS Saturday (July 11) for an opening reception 1 PM - 9 PM at COOP in conjunction with the July art crawl.
