My little sister. You’d be surprised that I don’t know what to say for once. To summarize who you are, what you mean to me or how I’m feeling seems impossible but I’ll try one last big brotherly, longwinded response. You were fearless. I bragged about you. I told you all the time that you made me proud. You inspired me. You made me create when I wanted to quit. You dragged me out of the house when I would hibernate for months. You told me everything you wanted to be and I watched you become those things every time. I watched others know you for what was just an idea at one point. I listened to you vent about everything from music to depression to friends to boys to cancer. Sometimes in the same conversation. We shared everything. We always talked about the future though. To be there for you was never a sacrifice, it was just what I had to do. I tried to protect you from everything and I would’ve given anything to protect you from this. What am I to do with just memories? I know you’d tell me don’t wowwy tho. Hmhm.

Today they named a block in Harlem after my Pops because of all his work in the community when he was here. I miss him everyday but today is special. These the shoes I have to fill.

May 9th, 2016 was by far the worst day of my life. Today was the first day I didn't cry. I'm sorting through your stuff right now, looking at pictures and things I've never seen before. All I can do is smile. You were amazing. You were always there. You were always stern and that's what I always needed. I get it now. I need you now more than ever but I'll figure it out. That's the last thing I told you. You worked 2 jobs for almost 30 years and you didn't have to. You made more than enough and I'm your only child. I know you were tired but you can sleep now.
