Why i do it? I started riding these roads and this event 10 years ago after battling male breast cancer for the prior 4 years. Now 10 years later I battle incurable stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that has travelled to the spine, rib cage, and hips. I know one day riding isn’t going to be an option. I ride because today i can - so i will. I ride for my mind and to move my body. I love doing it with these people. I love doing it on these red dirt Oklahoma country roads. I love being around other people who push themselves. I love my kids seeing me do hard things. I love the open space. I love meeting new people. I love to see the sun come up and the sun go down spending my whole day on my bike. I love the feeling of being alive and i want to be intentional on living every moment. Nothing makes me feel more alive than crossing the @midsouthgravel finish line and getting my @unlearnpavement “Bobby hug.” I love this event and how it has grown and the memories and friendships that have come from this event. I love the way it makes me feel. Can’t wait to do it all over again. It’s ok to do hard things.
