No Karen, we learned long ago to use real life experiences, thoughts, imagination, fortitude, work ethic, and heart! We throw in grammar, punctuation, and cursive with an emphasis in reality

Real work takes time. Its not something slapped together in an airport waiting for your flight to Whtchita, or formulated 10 minutes before your meeting in your cubicle.

It's countless hours of lost sleep sitting in front of a screen, sending the words from your heart, to your fingers, and sharing your life in print.

The difference is genuine quality vs. the plant based AI generated rhetoric crap you call work!

We are NOT the same!

If you see this guy, wish him a happy birthday!

He's gone by many names in his lifetime...
Dave, David, Manager, Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Captain, Chief, Student, and Educator, to name a few.

I can tell you the ones most important to him are Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and best of all PaDay!

If the testimony of life was in how many books you've read and the accomplishment you've achieved, then his library is full!

Whether he's running a City, running a Rodeo, or running a Spartan race ( which is well over 100 of them by now), he always got his eyes on the heartbeat and pulse of others.

While others will debate whether or not the glass is half empty or half full, he's already bringing another tray so everyone gets a drink.

I hope you have an amazing day.

Oh, by the way, my favorite name for him is Friend!

***HAPPY 4TH OF JULY***

Every year, I try to remind people the importance of people and dog safety during the fourth of July.

Not everyone has a dog that has been trained to deal with lots of different environmental situations.

The fourth of July can be a traumatic time for our canine family members.

If you're headed out to the lake or an all day event, consider securing your dog in a cool safe place ( the garage, maybe put up a baby gate in the kitchen.)

Turn on the A/C to keep them at a comfortable temperature. Leave out snacks, and enough water. Make sure all doors and windows are secure. I've always found, leaving the TV or Radio at a higher volume can drowned out the sound of exploding fireworks ( which can cause anxiety for some dogs).

If you don't have that option And have to leave them outdoors, make sure your fence and gate are secure. If you can leave them in a covered area, or pull out the pop-up tent, and make sure there is ample shade, food and water available for them.

. I can tell you that on July 5th, most Animal shelters are packed, because pets escape their homes and yards, out of fear and anxiety caused by loud noises. Sadly, many people ( who shouldn't own pets will leave their pets there and just walk away).

As always be responsible on the fourth. Fireworks are not for kids, Monday morning the news will tell you about the kids who are now missing fingers, eyes, get third degree burns, and those that didn't make it because of unsupervised, improper use.

Have fun, party it up, but drink responsibly. No excuses! There are Uber, Lift, Taxi's busses, Trains, Family, Friends and Relatives.

Parents, pissed off, because your underage son or daughter calls you drunk for a ride? Go get themand bring them home. You can have that conversation tomorrow when they are sober. Better to get a call from them instead of the ER, Law Enforcement, or the Coroner. Trust me, I've had to make that notification, and it never gets easier!

Sundays are always a good day for reflection...

While a lot of people have children graduating I am reminded of that back to school, first week of school assignment...

"What I did over summer break"

I started writing my 4th crime novel in the summer of 2025.

I made a goal to write a 1,000 words a day, which isn't easy. Some days it was more, but most days I hit my mark.

Ive written and published about 1,904 pages😁

From July to February I wrote 187,516 words. Those words became, my 4th book...

"That Long Dirt Road" .

It's the story of several police agencies ( in California, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, and South Dakota) searching for a group of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women ( MMIW) ✋️

Not enough attention is paid to this under reported group of victims.

These pictures are a part of the photoshoot for the book, taken in my home town of North Fork, Ca. with Native model Nylan Daezie Marvin. It's is a place I lived for many years. A place I will always call home!❤️

...Fresno police officer Raquel Molina released the slide of her department issued Glock sending a volley of 9mm rounds down range at her attacker struggling to re-load as she lay bleeding on the ground in Central California...

...Bureau of Indian Affairs officer Sequyah Lewis fought to keep her head above water after being swept away by the raging Wind River in Wyoming. She didn't know then, but soon, the three of them would be linked together...forever!
