POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If you were following my stories last week, you know that I was in Texas doing one the the things I love most… antiquing!
Round Top, Texas has a permanent population of 90 people, but 3 times a year, the patches of grass lining both sides of the main road through town are filled with tents and pop up antique shops that stretch for 11 miles!
Thousands of people don their turquoise jewelry and cowboy boots to walk through farm field in the blazing sun looking for their next treasure. It sounds crazy and honestly it is, but I love every second of it; booth after booth after booth of that one of a kind type of thing that makes a room feel collected!
And here for your zooming in pleasure are just a handful of the booths, and tents, and barns I had the pleasure of perusing…. taken in Round Top Antiques Show by @copperpinedesignco

Happy Father’s Day to the fathers on earth and those who look down from above; to grandfathers, stepfather‘s, single fathers, and those who have taken on the role of father; to fathers who have lost children, and those who have lost fathers; to those who cannot be fathers, the soon to be fathers, and all the fathers trying their best; we love you! taken in Saint Paul, Minnesota by @copperpinedesignco

Decorating with a splash of color against a neutral palette ensures a classic look no matter the season or trend.

Client meetings often result in ‘napkin’ sketches; quick little drawings on the back of whatever is available to help convey an idea. I have them on the back of receipts or envelopes I find in the bottom of my purse or in the margins of my notebook because you never know when inspiration will strike.

Doodles are often an integral part of my design process. Not all clients can visualize a design from a description or even a plan so quick sketches can be the language with which you communicate with a client who just can’t ‘see’ it.

This sketch is from a client meeting I had over 2 years ago with the most amazing couple and with a little luck and a lot of hard work we may see more of this project yet this year!

I couldn’t be more excited to have been sent home with this beautiful hand-drawn set of original plans for a potential client’s stunning mid-century home! Look at that line work by Partners of Architectural Concern Inc. in 1972.

Mixing materials is one way to create contrast, which can be used (overtly or subtly) to raise awareness of specific moments in your design. taken in Minnesota by @copperpinedesignco

Learning to incorporate vintage pieces into your design adds character and elegance, transforming your house into a home and ensuring you avoid that ‘cookie cutter’ vibe.

With a blizzard in our forecast, I can’t think of a better place to warm up than in this sculptural concrete tub with a view out into the snow globe.
