Fr Joseph’s ministry has left a huge impact on our lives and the lives of his flock. We feel tremendous joy every time we see him and pray the Lord keep him and continue to bless us through him for many years! by @copticicons.ae

Holy God, who being God, for our sake, became Man without change.
Holy Mighty, who by weakness showed forth what is greater than power.
Holy Immortal, who was crucified for our sake, and endured death in his flesh, the Eternal and Immortal.
Have mercy upon us. by @copticicons.ae

Psalm 23
- Egg tempera on wood (11”x14”)

This comissioned piece is a depiction of The Good Shepherd from the eyes of Psalm 23, not John 10.

When I started exploring this new idea, I couldn’t help but think of the contrast between “the valley of the shadow of death” and the “green pasture.”

The valley is rendered as a dark and treacherous place, crowded with dangerous hills and steep cliffs that challenge all who pass through it. A world where even a momentary loss of balance can lead one swiftly into depths ruled by pain and sorrow.

The pasture, by contrast, replaces sharpness with gentleness. Lush, living grass covers the land, and a river flowing through it offers rest and abundance to every creature willing to dwell there.

The Shepherd tilts His head toward the valley while maintaining eye contact with the observer. He promises His constant presence, both for those trapped in the valley, and for us whenever we find ourselves there. He draws the sheep away from darkness, surrounds it with love, and anoints its head with oil. His staff points toward the valley like that of a conqueror, signaling victory. by @copticicons.ae

Blessed Feast of Nativity🎄❤️

“What shall I say! And how shall I describe this Birth to you? For this wonder fills me with astonishment. The Ancient of days has become an infant. He Who sits upon the sublime and heavenly Throne, now lies in a manger. And He Who cannot be touched, Who is simple, without complexity, and incorporeal, now lies subject to the hands of men. He Who has broken the bonds of sinners, is now bound by an infants bands. But He has decreed that ignominy shall become honor, infamy be clothed with glory, and total humiliation the measure of His Goodness.“

St. Philopatir Mercurius

“Today all cities together, with our father Abba Basil, utter the glory and honor, of Philopateer Mercurius. […]
Gird your sword upon your thigh, O soldier of Christ, the strong, sweet named, Philopateer Mercurius.”
