My heart is so full from all the love my Miss #Pikeville #Pride outfit was given. I wanted to take some time to give credit to the fabulous artists who helped create this beautiful #Appalachian inspired look.

The outfit was hand crocheted by my friend @sharks_treasures with the beautiful trans flag inspired granny squares. This means the world to be because I truly feel that an #afghan is one of the greatest gifts of love we can receive. Especially when we can wrap up in it on a cold winters night.

The gorgeous rainbow inspired hair was created by Shontelle Sparkles and @glitterbombwigs. I am so grateful for her and the amazing concepts she continues to bring to life.

My nails were created by Zoey with @lavishnailstwo in Lexington, KY. She has always made sure my talons stay on point and shine their brightest.

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to @pikevillepride and @tswendywilliams for this incredible honor and for entrusting me with the opportunity to represent such a beautiful and resilient community.

My roots run deep in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. My family comes from Knott County, where the Hindman Settlement School, the annual Trail Ride, Carr Creek Lake, and, of course, the elk are staples of everyday life. Growing up, Pikeville felt like our “big city.” It’s a place we’d travel to when we wanted something special, even if that simply meant leaving the holler for Chinese food and an afternoon adventure to Wally World.

These mountains raised me. They shaped my spirit, taught me resilience, and reminded me that community is one of the greatest gifts we can give one another. No matter where life takes me, Eastern Kentucky will always be home.

This year, Pikeville Pride is working to raise $5,000 to continue creating spaces where 2SLGBTQIA+ people across Eastern Kentucky can feel seen, celebrated, safe, and loved. Every dollar makes a difference and directly supports our mission of fostering visibility, belonging, and acceptance throughout our region. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
