Missing our gardens already. These photos are from August and September.

This year, our team of Jardiniels, together with Pact de Rue and Ville en Vert, completed a ring of gardens around the entire block, with support from the city and the People’s Park grant. It takes a village ❣️ Thank you to the neighbours, near and far, who planted the beds alongside us, and to everyone who waters them and lets us use their taps and hoses.

Long live public gardens! Beauty for all! Gardens are political! Gardens are art! Gardens create community.

We also entered a garden contest for the first time and won second prize for best tree squares in Montréal. 🏆✨

🌿🌿🌿

The last eco-somatic morning walk of the year with @jaguar.soma and a beautiful group of humans. 🍂✨

We enjoyed taking in the crisp autumn sounds, colours, and the scent of fall leaves. We gathered at the Mother Tree the biggest tree in the area. We rested on the earth and gazed at the changing colourful blowing gently in the wind against the clear blue sky. We warmed up after with a massive selection of hot tea and snacks on picnic blankets before heading on our way. 🫖

Grateful for the ☀️ and sparkling water. Grateful to everyone for walking the path with us!

Come walk with us next year friends ! 🍁🧡

Some images of us in the mossy, deep green old-growth forest around Chemainus and Campbell River last month. 🌲 The forest felt sacred, and it brought to mind Greenwood by Michael Christie. Has anyone read it?

It felt good to be back on the island where I was born 🦌When I was a teen - I spent a lot of time in Strathcona Park outdoors program around this area.

These photos were taken on the unceded land of the Stz’uminus and the Laich-Kwil-Tach, the We Wai Kai and Wei Wai Kum. I was grateful to be a guest again in these forests.

Ocean tides pulling me home 🌊

Last month we stayed in Chemainus and Vancouver through @homeexchangecom. We were so lucky that we saw humpback whales for both our ferry crossings from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. 🐋 I also got to re-adore and re-admire all the mountains along the coast. We got to look after a sweet dog named Norman (last slide), and we were two blocks from a beach with gorgeous sunsets over the water almost every evening. Huge ty to our lovely hosts @riotboygrrl and Wyatt. It was so good to have the chance to be back on the West Coast for a month 😍

coral-6d606 is my code if you want to join home exchange 🏡♻️

Chemainus is on the unceded land of the Stz’uminus First Nation. The towns name Chemainus comes from Stz’uminus.
