Genre: Kurzfilm, Installation

Der experimentelle Kurzfilm NEMOPHELIA bezieht seine Spannung aus der Überzeichnung und dem Poetischem. Der Betrachter wird in einen Sog der Wechselwirkung zwischen Wiedererkennungseffekt und der Faszination am Unbekannten hinein gezogen. Der Ton unterstützt die Brüche im Handlungsfortgang, indem er das Spiel zwischen realer Darstellung durch musikalisch gesetzte Naturgeräusche und deren Verfremdung betont.

Heute Nacht läuft NEMOPHELIA wieder im deutschen Fernsehen, im Anschluss dann in der Mediathek:

Ich empfinde es als sehr bereichernd, wenn das eigene Werk immer wieder ans Licht treten darf – wie etwas, das im Verborgenen gereift ist und nun eine neue Lesart sucht.

NEMPHELIA steht inzwischen für meine ersten Jahre im Harz: für eine Zeit des Übergangs, der Selbstvergewisserung, des tastenden Verschwindens im Außen, um sich im Inneren neu zu finden. Es ist ein filmisches Gedicht geworden – eine existentielle Suche, getragen von der Sehnsucht nach dem Abtauchen, nach einem Einswerden mit dem, was größer ist als wir.

In diesem Film habe ich mich radikal der Natur überlassen. Nicht als Kulisse, sondern als Gegenüber, als atmende, antwortende Instanz. Das Bedürfnis, mich ihr ganz hinzugeben, wurde schließlich zum eigenen Werk.

Erst im Rückblick erkenne ich, wie sehr dieser Impuls in einer langen poetischen Tradition steht. Die Verwandlungen in den "Metamorphosen" – jenes Ineinanderfließen von Mensch, Landschaft und Mythos – klingen leise nach, wenn Grenzen in Bewegung geraten. Auch die entrückte, nachmythische Welt aus Ransmayrs "Die letzte Welt" scheint fern mitzuschwingen: eine Landschaft, in der Erinnerung, Sprache und Natur ununterscheidbar werden.

Und nicht zuletzt berührt sich der Film mit der Naturnähe der Romantik – jenem Sehnen nach Transzendenz, in dem Natur nicht bloß Umgebung, sondern Spiegel und Durchgang ins Metaphysische ist.

So begreife ich NEMPHELIA heute als einen stillen Dialog mit diesen Werken und Denkbewegungen: als Versuch, das Verhältnis von Mensch und Natur, von Poetik und Wirklichkeit, neu auszuloten. Ein filmischer Raum, in dem sich das Ich auflöst, verwandelt – und vielleicht für einen Moment etwas Transzendentes berührt.
