Found this gem last year in the Mentawais. First trip to Greenbush and what a day. Years of chasing waves and trying to improve my surfing all kind of came together in that moment.

Thanks @mauimarcc for capturing the moment.

Before the trip we dialed in the Modern Hero with @coredecks and it’s been feeling unreal when the waves step up.

To respect and wear art

I wanted to dedicate drop n.05 to the legendary 2000’s Honda Cg 125cc ( Titan ), it was my very first bike the indestructible carbureted 1 cylinder workhorse that carries many stories in Brazil and Latin America. Mine was a 2003, I was the fourth owner and it is still alive and running within the family, it’s done more then 300 thousand kms, on its 2nd engine. The same bike now is carefully taken care of by my brothers father, Flavio, who changes its oil every 1000kms, alot more strict then I used to ( hahah ) 🏍️

some fun facts

The CG line was literally engineered to survive neglect. Honda created the original CG125 because older OHC engines suffered if owners skipped oil changes. The CG used a simpler OHV “vareta” engine specifically to be tougher and easier to maintain.

In Brazil, the CG Titan became almost a cultural symbol. Honda itself says the CG “created the Brazilian motorcyclist,” because millions of people learned to ride and got their motorcycle license on a CG

The Titan was so dominant that it became the default delivery bike, moto-taxi bike, learner bike, and work bike across Brazil and much of South America.

The 125cc engine only made around 12.5 hp, but because the bike weighed so little, it felt surprisingly lively in the city.

People online still call those old Titans “indestructible,” “Highlander,” and “óleo e gasolina” because they tolerated absurd abuse and still kept running.

The CG platform became one of the best-selling motorcycle families on Earth. Over 14 million CGs have been produced in Brazil alone.

The carbureted Titans from the late 90s and early 2000s are kind of entering “classic bike” territory now in Brazil. Clean original ones are getting harder to find because so many were used hard for work and deliveries.
