It started as a fleeting idea, it didn't have a name. It was just going to be me, climbing the Art Museum steps in Philly for as many hours as possible as a way to...I don't know what...process grief, what does that even mean? Or, reset after spending 46 hours bedside, watching my friend die? Not trying to sound dramatic, but it kind of was.

That was almost 9 years ago and even though people die, love doesn't, so we keep doing what we do. We keep going so no one has to go through a cancer diagnosis alone, or go without food or other basic necessities.

PHL24 is personal 💛

Though the losses have been deeply painful, they have inspired meaningful positive action. Gina’s father, Richard Mancuso, passed away from cancer in 2009, and her best friend Carrie Lazarre lost her battle with cancer in 2017. These profound experiences were the inspiration for PHL24 and continue to fuel the important work at Legacy of Hope.

🏛️ PHL24 exists so that no family has to face cancer alone, and so the names and legacies of their loved ones live on through meaningful action and lasting impact.

On September 12–13, 2026, 30 athletes will climb the iconic Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for 24 continuous hours in solidarity with every cancer patient and family in the community.

I love not running the Broad Street Run because I get to see a whole city full of very cute friends and adorable strangers having the time of their lives.

I'll never get tired of any of it; the signs, the sounds, the road closures, the cowbells and the walk back to my house, full of pride for everyone.

Unplugged all the way and went on a very excellent trip with my very excellent brother.

I was a little bit scared. Super scared. It was a lot of miles and a lot of elevation with a heavy pack. But I didn't die.

Happy Birthday to my best mother 🌟

She is completely sassy and excellent. She drives in snowstorms, carries heavy things up the basement steps, never lets anyone help her do hard things, drinks the right amount of wine and wards off evil all day long.

I'm fake smiling because I have a lot more birthdays behind me than I have ahead of me, and I'm going to spend extra time doing things I love, like eating so much candy, sneezing, climbing stairs & crossing bridges, playing jiu-jitsu without passing guard, and never being cold 💙
