POSTS STORIES REELS

Core & Restore Pilates began with a shared belief: that movement has the power to heal, strengthen, and transform lives.

As I’m a physical therapist and Maria’s a massage therapist, we experienced firsthand how Pilates could support recovery, restore confidence, and help people feel more at home in their bodies. Through our own journeys with Pilates and years spent helping others, we dreamed of creating a space where every person could feel seen, supported, and guided with intention.

What started as a dream has become a community filled with people rediscovering strength, improving mobility, and finding joy in movement at every stage of life.

We’re so grateful to be part of these stories, and we’re just getting started.

The holiday rush is here. School activities, holiday parties, planning, cooking... the to-do list is a mile long. Let alone wanting to get a workout in.

What you really want is one uninterrupted hour to yourself to truly unplug.

You’ve tried unwinding at home, but between the never-ending list and someone always needing something from you, it never quite works.

What you need is a place to step away.

You walk through our doors to soft lighting and no loud music. Your belongings go in a locker, phone included. Welcome to Core & Restore Pilates, a calm place to truly unplug.

You settle onto your reformer, and the chaos starts to fade. As you follow your instructor’s cues, you tune out the noise and tune in to you.

The hour flies by, and so does the tension you’ve been carrying around. You walk out feeling like yourself again.

And you show up better at home because of it. You’re not the only one who notices the lift in your mood, either. Your family does too.

If this is you already running on empty, and the holidays have barely started? Let this be your hour to unplug, move, and find your spark again.

I don’t stay consistent with my workouts for instant results. I do it for the freedom that comes down the road.

Freedom looks like saying yes to an obstacle course with my kids at @rocketcityfitfest without thinking twice.

I didn’t wonder if I’d be able to keep up. I didn’t say, “I’ll just watch.” I got to jump in and play.

That’s what all those sessions I’ve shown up for, in our studio at Core & Restore Pilates and at home, have given me.

And that’s what freedom in motherhood looks like for me: knowing I can say yes to new adventures, or things I haven’t done in years, because I trust my body to keep up with me.

Pilates is one of my favorite ways to keep moving, but as Rocket City Fit Fest reminded me yesterday, movement comes in so many forms.

The key is finding what serves you best, and staying open to trying something new. You never know how it might help you.

Moving well offers you its own kind of freedom, and there’s so much joy in that.

Thank you, Rocket City Fit Fest for having Core & Restore Pilates at your event!

Here’s the thing: we adjust to the person who walks through our doors.

That looks different for everyone. Our clients come in all sizes and heights, with all kinds of needs, and the reformer can be adjusted for each of them.

Then comes the next worry: “I don’t want to be a pain for the instructor or hold up the class.”

You’re NOT.

We want everyone set up for success Core & Restore Pilates, and that means adjusting the equipment to serve you. The whole class doesn’t stop. We get your reformer fitted to your body before class ever begins.

That’s exactly why we cap every class at 5 people. Keeping classes small means we have time to set up each person properly.

And when your equipment fits your body, you get more out of every session. You’ll feel better, move better, and feel more confident in class.

Every body belongs on the reformer, including yours.

Let us take care of adjusting the equipment to fit your body, you don’t have to worry about a thing.

I took a Pilates mat class this week and kept thinking about a question I get a lot: “How is Pilates different from other workouts?”

Here’s one big reason: Pilates intentionally moves your spine in all directions it moves.

That’s flexion, extension, rotation, and side bending.

Those are the same motions you use every day, whether you’re picking something up off the floor, reaching into the back seat, or getting down to play with your kids.

Which of these everyday moves feels hardest for you right now? Tell me in the comments. 👇🏻

You have all the gear: the workout clothes, the bands, the weights, the saved videos, maybe even a gym membership.

But you still have to figure out what to do.

And honestly? You’re tired of making decisions. You still want to move your body, but you’d love for someone else to decide for you, so it’s one less thing on your plate today.

Maybe you’ve tried at-home Pilates workouts because they’re free. But what you really need is something that sticks for the long haul. No quick fixes, just consistency that gets you the results you’ve been hoping for.

That’s where our small group classes come in at Core & Restore Pilates. We plan everything, so all you have to do is show up.

Here’s what that looks like:

✨ Your equipment is adjusted to fit your body.
✨ Every exercise is planned for you, with no decisions needed
✨ Your resistance is set for you and adjusted based on what we see as well as how you feel
✨ Options for more challenge or modifications are offered throughout class

You show up, your workout is done for the day, and you’ve saved your decision-making energy for everything else on your list.

So this is your sign to let us take one decision off your plate this week.

We know life has been busy.

We feel so lucky to serve our clients here in South Huntsville.

As a physical therapist, I used to feel so frustrated when my patients finished therapy with nowhere to go next to keep their progress going. When they wanted real guidance and intention.

I dreamed of a place, where I could give clients the time and attention they truly deserved, so they could reach their goals without limits.

Then I met Maria, and she wanted the same thing. We’d both seen what Pilates could do for people.

So we built it. That’s how Core & Restore Pilates began.

Since opening, we’ve seen firsthand how intentional Pilates in a small studio can make a huge impact on a person.

Here’s a small glimpse of what I got to celebrate inside our studio this week:

✨clients celebrating one full year with us.
✨ a client with no aches or pains in her knees for the first time in a long time.
✨ a client was able to carry something heavy she couldn’t have carried last year with ease.
✨ a client not falling over balancing on one leg through an entire exercise.

Honestly, there’s so much more, but these moments are why we do this.

I dreamed of creating a safe place where anyone, at any stage of life, could regain their movement. Now I get to live that dream every day.

This studio is full of Pilates equipment, but the people inside bring this studio to life.

What’s a small win you’re proud of this week, in or out of the studio? Share is below so we can celebrate with you. 👇🏻

You’ve seen Pilates video and wondered, “Could I actually do that?”

You really want to try it. You want to walk out of class feeling capable. But the “what ifs” keep holding you back.

Here’s what most people get wrong: the goal isn’t to pick the hardest option. It’s to pick the right challenge for your body today.

That’s the beauty of Pilates. One exercise, like the one in this video, can be done three different ways, and there’s no wrong choice.

I know what you’re thinking: “Okay Lauren, but which one do I pick?”

Don’t worry. We’ll help you find the right option for you in class. No guesswork, just a guide supporting you every step of your Pilates journey.

The hesitation is real. But imagine taking that first class and feeling yourself get stronger, one class at a time.

Until one day, you sound like one of our clients:

“I have been taking lessons at Core & Restore Studio for over a year and can honestly say it has changed my life. I am stronger, more flexible, have fewer aches and pains, and am more confident in my body.”

I think you would love that, truthfully.

Also, we’re curious: have you tried the Hundred before? 👀 Drop a 🙋‍♀️ if yes, or a 🤍 if it’s still on your list.

And here’s why.... 👀

You’ve wanted to try Pilates for a while, but you’re worried about not being able to do an exercise in class. You don’t want to fail in a group of people.

We truly get it. We’ve all been beginners, and starting something new is hard.

What you really want is a studio where it feels safe to be a beginner. A place where you can make mistakes without anyone judging you.

So you keep waiting for the “right time,” when you’ll feel confident and sure you won’t fail.

But here’s the truth: you will make mistakes, and some moves will take more than one try. That’s 100% normal.

The difference is that we won’t leave you hanging. In every class, we’ll:

✨ give you options for each exercise
✨ adjust the springs to fit your body
✨ celebrate every small win with you

You might doubt yourself at first, but we’ll believe in you until you do.

You were made to try new things and grow, and Pilates is no different.

You will walk out of the Pilates wishing you hadn’t waited so long to get started.

Because at Core & Restore Pilates, it’s safe to be a beginner. ✨

“There’s no way I can spend money on a Pilates class for myself, it’s expensive.”

Sound familiar?

We hear you. It’s smart to be thoughtful about how you spend your money, especially on fitness.

But here’s another way to look at it: If Pilates makes you grow stronger, move better, and feel more like yourself., it’s not just an expense. It’s an investment in you.

And you are worth investing in.

You spend so much of your time taking care of the endless to-do list and the people you love that it’s easy to forget to take care of yourself, too.

When you’re the center of your home that holds it all together and you feel better, everyone feels the difference.
