Editorial imagery shaped by light, landscape, and presence
Lake Tahoe + destination weddings
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Over the past several months, I’ve found myself reconnecting with the part of this profession that first drew me to it years ago. Not just photographing weddings, but refining the way I see light, movement, atmosphere, and the way the work itself is experienced and shared.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about continuing to evolve creatively after all this time. Learning how to simplify. Paying closer attention to aesthetic, emotion, and the quiet in-between moments that often say the most.

This new website became an extension of that process. A more intentional space to share the work, the experience, and the way I approach photographing weddings in Lake Tahoe and beyond.

Inside are updated portfolio galleries, planning resources, venue guides, and a collection of imagery shaped by the landscapes and light that continue to inspire me every season.

Very grateful for everyone who continues to trust me with these moments, and excited for what’s ahead.

The new site is now live… Link in Bio:

Mother Nature kept us waiting all week, but Shelby and Henry got their sunshine just in time to say I do on the Glenbrook green.

An intimate ceremony nestled between the towering pines gave way to an evening that began with dancing and never fully stopped - the kind of celebration no one wanted to end.

The kind of dinner you wish you could experience all over again.

There was so much to love about this private estate welcome dinner in Lake Tahoe, especially the way the design carried through every part of the setting.

Olive green linens, terracotta plates, vintage silver candlesticks, and the most beautiful mix of fall flowers. Rich burgundy, rust, marigold, and soft peach blooms brought warmth and texture to the tables, while larger floral installations felt right at home against the surrounding pines and mountain views.

What I loved most was how the flowers seemed to grow naturally throughout the space. Nothing felt too perfectly arranged, and there was always another little detail to notice.

As the sun went down and the candles were lit, the entire setting took on a completely different feel. Such a beautiful evening and an incredible display of floral artistry.

A little inspiration for anyone planning a Lake Tahoe wedding weekend with a love for color, thoughtful design, and beautiful surroundings.

It all started with the dress.

Intricate floral embroidery and unexpected colors inspired this private estate welcome dinner in Lake Tahoe, with florals designed to complement her dress and feel like an extension of the surrounding landscape.

Rust, marigold, burgundy, peach, and lavender met olive green linens, terracotta plates, and seasonal fruit. Against the pines and golden light, every detail felt warm, personal, and beautifully at home.

And the two pups in black bows? A perfect finishing touch.

Save this for your Lake Tahoe wedding weekend inspiration.

Some of my favorite wedding design inspiration has nothing to do with weddings.

I took these photographs in Capri, Italy in 2014. Looking through them again, I kept coming back to the same thing: the texture.

Weathered white walls covered in vines. Bougainvillea growing over rough wood. Wrought iron tucked beneath greenery. Hand-painted tile. Warm stone. Faded surfaces next to saturated color.

Nothing matches perfectly. Nothing feels overly considered. It has simply collected over time, and I think that’s part of what makes it so beautiful.

There’s something about that idea I love for wedding design, too.

The weddings that photograph beautifully aren’t necessarily the ones where every detail matches. Often, it’s the layering that makes a tablescape or space feel interesting.

A linen with movement. Florals that are a little loose and organic. Handmade paper next to polished glassware. Stone, wood, ceramic, fruit, candlelight. Something old beside something refined.

Texture gives your eye somewhere to go.

And when those materials are chosen with the setting in mind, the entire celebration starts to feel like it belongs there.

A coastal wedding doesn’t have to rely on blue and white to feel coastal. A garden wedding doesn’t need flowers covering every surface to feel abundant. Sometimes the feeling comes through more subtly in the materials, colors, and textures you choose.

I think that’s what these old photographs reminded me of.

Twelve years later, I’m still drawn to the things that feel a little imperfect, layered, lived-in, and specific to a place.

And those are often the details I find myself photographing at weddings, too.

Save this for your wedding design inspiration if you’re drawn to layered wedding textures, organic florals, natural materials, European-inspired wedding details, and celebrations with a strong sense of place.

How much of your wedding day do you actually want your photographer to direct?

I keep coming back to cocktail hour.

Not because it’s the most curated part of a wedding day, but because it’s one of the only times when almost nobody is being told what to do. I’m obsessed with this hour that goes way too fast!

There’s a difference between a candid photo and a truly unscripted wedding moment.

I can put a couple in beautiful light, ask them to walk, give them something to do, and then photograph the real laugh that happens in between. I love those photographs. They’re natural. They’re honest. But they still happened within direction.

And then there are these photos.

Someone spotting a friend across the lawn. A hug I didn’t see coming. Guests taking selfies, fixing each other’s dresses, talking with their hands, laughing at something I’ll never hear.

Nobody is waiting for direction. Nobody is thinking about the photograph.

That’s probably my favorite thing to photograph.

I love that wedding photography is moving toward more of this. More documentary wedding photography and less pressure to manufacture every beautiful moment.

But here’s what I’m genuinely curious about: how much do couples actually want?

Because I almost never get to photograph an entire cocktail hour. We’re usually doing couples portraits, extended family photos, reception details, or something else the timeline requires. And beautiful candid moments absolutely happen within those things.

There are just fewer of them.

So past couples, future couples, wedding planners…I want to hear from you.

Would you trade some of the traditionally directed photos for more time simply documenting your people?

Would you want fewer combinations and more photographs of what your wedding actually felt like while you weren’t looking?

Because if I could spend an entire cocktail hour photographing exactly this, I would.

The drone went up, and suddenly the scale of the day made sense.

You could see the ceremony tucked beneath the pines, the dock cutting across the water, the shoreline wrapping around the property, and that classic wooden boat moving through the deep blue of Lake Tahoe.

That’s why I love incorporating drone wedding photography into a gallery. It gives you something the photographs taken from the ground simply can’t: context.
Not just where everyone stood, but where the day happened.

For a Lake Tahoe wedding, that perspective matters even more. So much of what makes getting married here memorable is the landscape itself. The mountains. The water. The towering trees. The feeling that your entire wedding weekend is tucked away from everything else.
And then there’s the movement.

Seeing the boat pull away from above. Watching the water trail behind it. Catching the ceremony setup before guests arrive. Those few seconds of wedding drone footage can hold an entirely different feeling than a traditional clip.

I don’t think drone footage needs to take over a wedding film or gallery. A few intentional moments are enough. Used well, they help tell the bigger story without distracting from the smaller one happening below.

These are the shots that remind you just how beautiful the setting really was.

For couples planning a Lake Tahoe wedding, lakefront wedding, or destination wedding in Lake Tahoe, drone coverage is one of my favorite ways to document the place alongside the people.

And I’m always so grateful when the video team sends over their drone files for me to include in the gallery. Being able to give my couples those additional perspectives makes the final collection feel that much more complete.

There’s a particular feeling to getting married at Martis Camp. Once everyone has arrived and the celebration begins, the rest of the world feels very far away.

Surrounded by towering pines and the mountains of North Lake Tahoe, there’s a sense of privacy here that’s hard to replicate. Your guests aren’t simply arriving at a wedding venue. They’re gathering somewhere that feels completely removed, intimate, and entirely yours for the day.

For a few hours, it can almost feel as though the mountain belongs only to you, your family, and the people you chose to bring with you.

That feeling comes through in the photographs, too. A ceremony framed by the mountains. A veil catching the Tahoe breeze. Wildflowers along the aisle. Quiet moments tucked between the trees. The scale of the landscape makes everything feel grand, while the privacy keeps the experience deeply personal.

That balance is what makes a Martis Camp wedding so special. It’s refined without feeling overly formal, secluded without feeling removed, and surrounded by scenery that doesn’t need much added to it.

For couples planning a luxury Lake Tahoe wedding, Martis Camp offers something rare: the chance to celebrate in a place that feels private enough to become your own little world.

Some flowers deserve their own moment.

For Shelby and Henry’s Glenbrook Club wedding, the florals felt almost like an extension of the landscape. Soft ivory, barely-there blush, and powder blue moved through the day in loose, garden-inspired arrangements that never felt too perfect or too placed.

The ceremony flowers grew along the aisle as though they had always been there. The bouquet felt gathered rather than arranged. Delicate stems found their way onto tables, beside stationery, and throughout the reception.

There was a softness to all of it. Romantic without being overly sweet. Abundant without feeling heavy. The kind of wedding floral design that becomes part of how you remember a place.

And against the quiet beauty of Lake Tahoe, it felt especially fitting.
A little appreciation for the flowers that made Shelby and Henry’s day at Glenbrook Club feel like a garden tucked into the mountains.

Some wedding days have a different kind of ease to them. Shelby and Dylan’s Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe wedding was one of those days.

They chose not to have a wedding party, got ready at the Ritz, and kept the entire celebration on site. They also chose to have two wedding photographers and do a first look, which meant we could photograph almost everything before the ceremony without making the day feel like one long photo session.

By the time they were officially married, there wasn’t a huge list of photos waiting for us.

They got to go to cocktail hour.

That might sound like a small thing, but so many couples spend that entire hour taking family photos, wedding party photos, and portraits. Shelby and Dylan were able to actually be with the people who had traveled to celebrate them. They had a drink. They talked to their guests. They enjoyed the space they had spent months planning.

Later, I borrowed them for about ten minutes for sunset wedding photos in Lake Tahoe, and then they went right back to the party.

This is why I’m such a believer in building a wedding photography timeline around how you want the day to feel, not just around a photo list. A first look, two-photographer wedding coverage, thoughtful timeline planning, and keeping everything in one place can create so much breathing room.

And the photos don’t suffer for it. We documented the details, portraits, ceremony, cocktail hour, sunset, and a very full dance floor without Shelby and Dylan feeling like they spent their wedding day with their photographer.

Between the still water textures and that Tahoe sunset through the pines, these are the kinds of in-between moments that quietly shape an entire wedding weekend. The atmosphere, the pace, the feeling of being fully immersed in a place your guests will never forget.

Not every frame has to be the centerpiece. Sometimes the detail shots become the thread that ties the whole story together.
