If you told my younger self I’d be here today, she wouldn’t have believed you.

For many years, I never imagined this day would come. Growing up, school was a struggle, I barely passed my classes, failed 7th grade, and then skipped 8th. By the time I reached high school, I was already behind, and the school I attended didn’t offer much support. But somewhere along the way, something clicked. I learned how to teach myself.

I never thought college was in the cards for me, yet I became dual-enrolled, spent the year after high school in community college, and pushed until I made it to university. Then I transferred to UNCG.

UNCG changed everything for me. I found community, confidence, and opportunities I never had before. @uncgceo taught me so much and gave me the confidence to finally start the business I had dreamed about for years.

I am a businesswoman.

I joined @uncg_cheerleading, made incredible friends, and spent countless hours practicing and showing up to events.

I am a student-athlete.

I paid my own way, working while attending school and running from class to practices, games, to many jobs, and every event I could.

I am graduating debt-free.

I met amazing people, attended unforgettable events, learned lessons I’ll carry forever, and built memories I will always cherish. I am endlessly grateful to everyone who has been part of my college journey.

I am especially grateful to my family for supporting me in every way they could, always pushing me to grow and cheering on my goals, no matter how crazy or ambitious they thought they were.

I am a first-generation student.

And now, the day has finally come…

🎓I am a college graduate.
