I know I don’t normally post things like this but I have been waiting for this day for awhile now. About a year ago I decided that I wanted to get a tattoo that really meant something to me. Everyone has their story so today I’m going to be sharing mine. “She is art” is a quote I’ve lived by for the past couple years. When I was 13 years old I was in the darkest place I’ve ever known. It started with intrusive thoughts which later then became medical issues, mentally and physically, then turned into multiples diagnoses. At the young age of 13 I was struggling battles no individual should ever go through. I thought I was alone in every battle I fought, but I was wrong. Body dysmorphia, anxiety, depression, and ED’s are all something that more than half of the world struggle with today. But my question is why? Why are we letting others tell us who we can and can’t be? Why do we feel like we are never good enough? Why? These exact questions convinced me that I didn’t deserve to be here. God created every single one of you the exact way that you are meant to be. You have one body to live in your entire life journey so YOU NEED to start loving yourself now. If you think that your not “instagram worthy” or “the beauty standard” you’re wrong, because you have a purpose. YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL. Just the way you are. Art is fragile, beautiful, and well taken care of, so that’s exactly how we should think of ourselves. I am the art for my parents, friends, and family. Your mind, soul, heart, and body AS ONE is art. Take this as a reminder and a hope that we can lift each other up, support one another, and be there for the people who need you most.
