I am so excited to announce that I will be attending University of St Andrews in the fall for my Masters of Research in Anthropology, Art, and Perception!!!! Scotland’s oldest university + baby Cori painting + grown Cori smiling + my daily view working at the Santa Fe Opera. I am very grateful for all of my loved ones and this beautiful life I get to live. by @corilavergne

For those of you that don’t know I have been doing a private artist residency for the last six months in Edinburgh, Scotland. I’ve been doing independent research at the Royal Surgeons Hall Museum and creating a series of anatomical specimen paintings and drawings. Better pictures can be found on my website - and some prints are already available on my Etsy with more coming soon! I am very privileged and grateful for this opportunity. Despite the devastating heartbreak of losing a loved one while I was away, I am very proud of the work I made and am eager to share it with you all. Soon I will be heading off to Santa Fe, New Mexico to work as a Seasonal Scenic Artist at the Santa Fe Opera, then later this year I will be heading back to Scotland for my masters (I have the wonderful problem of having to choose between programs!) stay tuned for more art and things. Mr. Coal “Kitty” LaVergne passed away last night. For those who don’t know, he was neglected for the first 8 years of his life, was surrendered to a shelter for a year and got all but one of his teeth pulled (lower left canine got to stay). I adopted him in March of 2021 as my emotional support cat, but it really felt like he chose me to be his mama. I know everyone says their pet is special, but there was something so human about Coal. He was curious, playful, sassy, cuddly, and the most loving cat I have ever known. He was my home for nearly 5 years, helped me through college and transitioning into adulthood, moved with me 7 times, and he was so loved by so many people. We saved each other’s lives more than once, and I will forever be grateful for every day I had with him.
