New year, new (actually my first) introduction post - did I reach that point?!

Hiii, you found me... another ex corporate finance/ sustainability girlie who packed up and left last year.

I share all the silly little adventures I have, like trying to learn languages, taking myself on solo self-made food tours, and other experiences trying to keep it as ā€˜local’ and ā€˜conscious’ as possible (sustainability background crying out). As you can tell I do not take life seriously.

Here are some facts about me:

šŸŽ’ Travelling since January 2025 and recently started pretending l’m a content creator - am I? I don’t have an income yet, I tend to volunteer a fair bit! But I’d like to make it in this travel world.

šŸ“šŸ‡®šŸ‡³ I’ve also started writing travel guides about India
(for now)...because I’m obsessed with the place and know a lot. So yeah, I reckon they might help someone!

šŸ›µšŸŒ… I’m happiest when racing around mountain roads on a scooter or watching sunset with a cute group of random travel friends. I travel slowly when time (and visa’s) allow me to. I always try to go local - the best food and experiences come from this!

šŸ‘Æā€ā™€ļø If you’re still here, thanks! I’m so glad you’re following along on my adventures, and if you want to see more of me you can find my brand new TikTok account @triedtravelled, and check out my guides linked in my bio.

India made me confront things that I already knew but really wasn’t ready to deal with - things a year of therapy didn’t quite crack open.

I’m incredibly grateful for the small challenges and big ones that India made me face. The discomfort, the near misses and the moments I had to sit with myself instead of distracting my way through it.

This is what happens when you move more consciously, and stop trying to control the experience.

When you let life’s lessons meet you where you are, instead of forcing it.

Nature has a tendency of doing its thing everywhere but in India, it all feels a little more obvious. More exposed and raw.

When I’m travelling, you might not think it but I miss home…

When I’m home, all I can think about is the adventure of travelling

When I’m on the move, evidently I want rest…but when I stay in one place I always feel the need to move on…

When I’m totally free, I’m often lost. And when I have plans I feel anxious and trapped…

When it’s raining and cold, all I want is sun.
When it’s too hot I would do anything for a cold morning.

When I had a career, I dreamt about exploring and being free from corporate…but now I’ve got that dream, I miss my team!

When I’m solo, I want new friends…but when I find a community I often struggle and crave alone time…

I eat out A LOT when travelling and crave home cooked meals…but when I’m home I too often order takeaway or go out with friends

The grass is rarely greener on the other side but having the flexibility to water it where I want matters so much…

@truetravellerinsurance enables me to be indecisive about my trip. So if you’re planning an open ended trip which may include a visit home (without disrupting your insurance) they are a super safe bet! by @corinnebraund

A day in the life as a remote worker in Leh City, Ladakh, India. Who knew this would be such a good base?! šŸ¤Æā›°ļø

I love a slow morning. It takes me time to wake up here. Probably the altitude but maybe I just feel like taking my sweet time.

Leh in the morning is just wonderful and…

I get to start my days with yoga, every day.

Found @deep.on.yog a little later than I should have. Ended up going every single day I was in the city after that. Unbelievable…just go, please. You’ll learn more than you expect!

I never usually drink coffee when I’m in India - but Leh? Damn, the coffee scene is good.

HAHA Cafe and Crafty Beans were my go to for coffee and a spot of work. But then…

I get hungry. So just across the road from HAHA, Leh is blessed with a lunch spot called Inner Space. It’s run by a lady who serves the yummiest home cooked food.

It’s genuinely a game changer as a full time traveller to find a place that doesn’t just make restaurant style food.

But I often eat too much and the afternoon slump hits hard.

So I head home and attempt to work from my rooftop. How unreal is that?! Until…

Golden hour hits and lights up the city.

So I either head for the views, take my second yoga class of the day orrrr wander the market for groceries so I can cook dinner.

Dinner options are amazing in Leh, even if you’re not able to cook.

Ending the day in Leh is always a nice feeling. It gets a little cold after sun down and the feeling to getting all cosy in bed is just the best!

Life here is perfect. Save this for your next remote work trip! taken in Leh, India by @corinnebraund

apparently caring about your outfit disqualifies you from hiking now…

ppl plz, wear the cute designer balloon pants, wear the cheap thrifted ones, wear pajama pants if that’s what gets you up the mountain. the discourse is more tiring than the elevation gain. and here’s the thing — the view looks exactly the same at the top whether you matched your fit to your water bottle or rolled out of bed in whatever was on the floor.

and can we also just say it: wanting to look good does not mean you’re not allowed to not care either. one girl’s cute hiking fit isn’t taking anything away from the girl in sweatpants and no makeup. that’s kind of the whole point of ā€œfemale empowermentā€ — it was never supposed to mean picking the ā€œrightā€ way to show up. it’s just... showing up. however you want. taken in Kyrgyzstan by @corinnebraund

Here’s a few pictures of my face and some real experience from someone who quite their corporate job 18 months ago to travel full time.

It’s not as easy as simply quitting.

There is a lot of planning involved - financially and emotionally. I went through it all. Perhaps with a much longer lead time than many others. But that’s what happens when a corporate job has made you so risk averse.

This is the path I took to build up the courage to quit and I haven’t looked back since. If it’s crossed your mind ever then why not take a look, maybe you’ll be inspired maybe you’ll just enjoy looking at a few duplicated silly photos of me.

Enjoy it as you please. And let me know in the comments if you have any of your own advice (for those who also quit).

PS now I’m trying to build fractional income whilst I travel and pretending (in the meantime) that I’m a successful nomad.
