The man being recognized is not for loss but for the type of man I knew. One who stood by his brothers, his family, his goals. I was blessed enough to have witnessed his sheer focus in action as he pursued greatness. Whenever we think or speak of you. It’s for the example you set. The presence you made. The love you showed.

Am I a writer? Am I a producer? Am I supposed to be a content creator? Am I supposed to be a manager or CEO?

Most days I am told by my loved ones that I possess good qualities. One redeemable as a decent man. And still I ask myself if the words are good enough? If it’s enough for me to feel accomplished. I must admit, social media has shielded me from the reality of what life is to the person living it. Yet, I don’t feel protected. I feel lied to. I’ve never truly understood why one day you can feel connected to a purpose, and another you can feel disconnected to the opportunities that feed that journey. It’s a flaw of mine to assume I should have more. It’s also a disturbing fact I haven’t yet appreciated all I have. My wife, my brothers, and my mother tell me I’m not where I came from. Sometimes I’m not sure I see what they see. And then, I realize what I’m using to measure the scale. I know I should be more grateful. Actually, I should just be grateful. Life isn’t what you envision but a lot of what you perceive it to be. Those are two different things. For example, I shy away from social media although I admire connection. Sometimes it feels like I’m hidden. Other times it feels like maybe those who are supposed to see, do and will. That could be God’s way of protecting me. I perceive it as it’s pointless to participate because I’m hidden. Yet, I envision myself connected. The reality can be confusing. I’m not sure if I’m just older and cannot cope with a changing environment, or if I am stuck. Or worst, prevented. It’s interesting. How quickly I believe some mysterious man behind the curtain has it out for me. My ability to rationalize always produces a sense of peace. A calm with understanding. This is a ramble. Not a piece. It’s thoughts on a matter of perspective. A feeling of indecision. Unable to prove I am who I say I am but also too blindfolded to accept what I actually am, and see it.

My birthday is coming up. I believe this year I will celebrate just being present and here. That’s it. Nothing fancy. Nothing special. Just a gratefulness without the titles or accolades to claim some level of success.

Social media allows us to determine what we can share with friends, family, strangers, and more. Every so often we should use this opportunity not to increase engagement or chase likes. Take a second to get the message to as many people that you care about or love. And thank them. Thank them for caring about you and your dream. Thank you for valuing the friendships and the moments.

You have every day to show off your life. You also have any moment to show off your gratitude.

Feeling down or bad comes easy. Especially, when you are a big time believer. You feel so confidently that good is coming you see each opportunity as that moment. But it is not realistic. The moment is unforeseen and only God knows.

Me personally, I’d rather do one thing right. Don’t need to be the all time winner. Just to win. That’s the spirit. Knowing a win is possible is an unmatched energy booster.

I welcome new partnerships, new stories, new ideas, new perspectives, and hope to sustain the ones currently supported.
