POSTS STORIES REELS

This is my grandmother, Isaure, and me.

I’ve been thinking about her a lot today.

When I started Isaure’s, I wanted to share a little piece of where I come from. The food I grew up eating, the traditions of the Cajun prairie, and the love that was always so present in my grandmother’s kitchen.

Today, I sold out at my second popup.

But what has meant the most to me isn’t the sales. It’s seeing familiar faces come back, hearing people talk about how much they enjoyed the food, watching someone finish a bowl of gumbo and come back for another.

There’s something really special about seeing food that means so much to me mean something to other people, too.

I named this little business after my grandmother because I wanted to keep a piece of her, and the world she came from, alive. I don’t know exactly where Isaure’s will take me, but I know how much it means to be able to share her name and a little bit of our family’s history with all of you.

Thank you for showing up, for eating, for sharing, and for making room for this little dream of mine.

I wish I could tell her about today.

Merci beaucoup, from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ by @cornbread_booty

Come hungry. Allons manger! ❤️ by @cornbread_booty

Well y’all, I’m finally doing it!! 💖

I’m starting a little Cajun food pop-up called Isaure’s, named after my grandma.

My grandparents ran a grocery store and restaurant in Cankton, Louisiana, and so much of my love for cooking comes from growing up around that food and those traditions. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m really excited to share a little piece of home with y’all.

Starting October 18th, I’ll be slinging gumbo, potato salad, and gâteau de sirop outside Anna’s! @annasnola

📍 Anna’s in the Marigny
🗓 Every other Sunday
⏰ 12–4pm

Come hungry and let me feed y’all!

Allons manger, cher! 💖

Cornbread’s Kitchen is now Isaure’s: Prairie Cajun Cooking. Named after my Mawmaw Thibodeaux who had me helping in the kitchen since I was 3 years old. Starting October 18th I’ll be doing a gumbo popup at @annasnola every other Sunday! Can’t wait to get back to feeding my beautiful community! by @cornbread_booty

Dolly gave me a version of the South I could see myself in.

I’ve been trying to put into words what Dolly Parton means to me as a queer Southerner. This is the best I could do. 💖
