Waiting for my train, so why not post a bunch of shameless selfies 🤷‍♀️

As I entered, the air was thick with death, a pungent atmosphere you couldn't escape. No natural light reached its walls and a cold shiver covered your skin in fear. But curiousity knows no bounds, and so we delve deeper into the miles of winding roads, stories underground, to peak into the forgotten world of the dead who we are soon to join.

I was under strict watch to take no photos within these catacombs, but I managed to snag one at the end. I can tell you what, they were amazing. They stated that there are over 500,000 bodies still stored within the catacombs and all underneath the Appian Antica.

There were "Fossores" who's job it was to map out the winding paths and ensure you could navigate to bury your loved one, only lit by small terracotta flames. by @corneliusthelion
