Chasing the Milkyway Core again for the first time of the year. What an amazing night @jeroenlin and I had in Germany last night.

The observers.

King of the universe.

Not at all how I felt when I stood there, knees trembling, right at the edge of the abyss to capture this shot.

Staring at such an overwhelming night sky doesn’t make you feel powerful, it makes you feel small, fragile, and humbled. In that moment, all the noise of daily life fades away, and you’re left with a silent awareness of how little we truly know.

The stars above hold endless mysteries, entire worlds and stories we can only imagine. And yet, standing there under that infinite canvas, it never gets old. I could spend hours just drifting away in thought, lost in the vastness of the universe, feeling both insignificant and completely alive.

The most impressive view I've ever had... the La Palma nightsky... the darkness, the landscape and everything else. The place to be as an astrophotographer.

2.7 million years of traveling through space, captured in a single image!

This is M33, the Triangulum Galaxy, located 2.7 million light-years away. Home to around 40 billion stars and massive star-forming regions.

We're seeing this galaxy as it looked long before modern humans existed!

A cosmic teddy bear! 🧸✨

Meet the Teddy Bear Nebula (Sh2-284), a fascinating emission nebula in the constellation Monoceros, approximately 15,000 light-years from Earth.

This enormous cloud of glowing hydrogen gas is a stellar nursery, where new stars are being born. The intense radiation from young, massive stars illuminates the surrounding gas while stellar winds sculpt its remarkable structures.

The Veil Nebula 🌌

What you’re seeing here are the remains of a massive star that exploded as a supernova thousands of years ago.

Located around 2,100 light-years away, the expanding shockwave still lights up the surrounding gas, creating these incredible delicate filaments.

Hard to believe this is the aftermath of a stellar explosion.

This is not a painting. This is a stellar nursery.

The Heart Nebula (IC 1805) lies about 7,500 light-years away and spans roughly 200 light-years across. Even light itself would need around 200 years to travel from one side to the other.

The light in this image started its journey to my seestar sensor thousands of years ago.

The North America Nebula (NGC 7000)

Located around 2,600 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. The Hubble palette brings out the different gases and structures within this enormous emission nebula. ✨

It's amazing what the Seestar s50pro can achieve!

M31 - The Andromeda Galaxy

A whole new world just opened up!

After 8 years of landscape astrophotography, I finally decided to dive deeper into deep-sky photography with the new Seestar S50 Pro.

And this is my first serious result: the Andromeda Galaxy, our neighbouring galaxy around 2.5 million light-years away.

Just think about that… the light captured here started its journey 2.5 million years ago. You’re literally looking back in time. 🤯

My first proper deep-sky edit, shot straight from my backyard in Katwijk. Still plenty to learn, but I’m seriously impressed by what this little telescope can do! 🌌
