Science class is heating up!

Our 1st- and 2nd-grade Awesome Scientists have been exploring acids and bases, observing the amazing colors of pH science, and discovering the reactions that happen when they combine. And of course, the most exciting part is seeing things EXPLODE!

Students have paired up to build their own volcanoes and will soon decorate them before taking them outside for eruptions in the next week or two.

We can’t wait to see these little scientists in action! 🌋

When Piper Stroud was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just seven years old, her family’s world changed overnight. Today, as a fifth grader at Cornerstone, Piper is using her experience to encourage others across the United States, share her faith, and show the world that diabetes doesn’t define her.

Thanks to everyone who popped on over for Mother-Son Game Day!

The event was bubbling over with laughter, fun, and plenty of friendly competition! In the battle of moms vs. sons, we think everyone came out a winner.

We had a blast and hope everyone left with lots of laughs, great memories, and maybe a little bragging rights! 😉

In the middle of a busy school day, when there are only so many minutes to eat, talk, laugh, and catch up with friends, a group of eighth-grade boys is choosing to do something a little different. Three days a week, they gather together at lunch, not just to hang out, but to open God’s Word, talk about their faith, and pray together.

Today, our secondary students gathered for a special chapel to remember September 11, 2001, a day that changed our nation forever.

Mr. Stanfill, Mr. Ridley, Mr. Edmondson, Mrs. Vehrs, Mrs. Holmes, and Mrs. Abraham shared where they were and what they remember from that day. Each story was different, offering our students a glimpse into the fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak so many experienced 25 years ago.

It was also an honor to have Staff Sergeant JT Dabbs share with our students and remind us of the courage and sacrifice we remember on this day.

Life is precious and not promised, which makes our relationship with the Lord the most important thing we can have. Mr. Edmonson’s message was a simple but powerful reminder to live with eternity in mind, to know Christ, follow Him, and be ready for the day when this life is over and we stand in His presence.

September 11 reminds us that life can change in an instant. Today, we are thankful for the opportunity to remember, to reflect, to pray, and to point our students toward the hope we have in Jesus.

This community-wide event is open to high school students and parents and will feature representatives from colleges, universities, trade schools, first responders, and branches of the military.

Come ask questions, gather information, and explore the possibilities for life after high school!

Our middle schoolers made their way to Camp Gideon last Friday for our annual retreat, and what a great day it was! With beautiful weather, plenty of outdoor recreation, and time spent together, our students had a chance to step away from the usual school routine and enjoy some meaningful time of fellowship and fun.

We were also blessed to have Cornerstone alum lead our worship gatherings, while Colby Chester, middle school pastor at First Baptist Woodstock, shared God’s Word with our students.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for our students, leaders, and this special day. We’re grateful for a successful retreat and all that God did through it!

High School Retreat had it all!

Two days of games, worship, campfires, laughter, late-night conversations, and time together at Strong Rock Camp.
But when we asked our students what moment stuck with them most, one answer kept coming up:

🙏 Prayer.

Students prayed over one another, worshiped together, encouraged their friends, and experienced what it means to
Love God and Love Others.

And yes…there was plenty of fun along the way, too!!
