It’s easy to recognise the faults in others, but harder to examine our own hearts.

As we begin Amos, we’re reminded that genuine faith goes beyond appearances. God calls us to live out His Word, remain open to correction and reflect His character in everything we do.

Thankfully, through Jesus, we find forgiveness, grace and the power to change. ❤️

✨ Filled with joy as we step into 2026 at Cornerstone ✨

This past season has been rich in all the ways that matter most. God has taught us so much-personally and collectively-and we’re deeply thankful for how He’s been at work among us.

We’ve had the privilege of sharing the gospel with so many children and young people, and every outreach event has been a true blessing. We’ve seen seeds planted, faith stirred, and hearts encouraged. 🙌

And this is only the beginning. We cannot wait to continue blessing the people of Shotts in 2026 and beyond-serving, loving, and sharing Jesus wherever He sends us.

What’s on this week:
🕊️ Church – Sunday, 10:45–12:00
🎨 Kids Club – Tuesday 6th January
🔥 Youth Group – Wednesday 7th January

God is faithful-and we’re excited for what’s ahead. 💛

On Wednesday we had a great night playing different games that challenged our teens to work together, communicate and support one another.
Our Bible study was all about sustainability in ministry and why it’s important that we all play our part in spreading the Gospel and making disciples.
We looked at how God has given each of us different gifts and abilities, not just for ourselves, but to serve others and build up the church.
The big reminder was that the work of sharing the Gospel isn’t just for one person or the pastor. We all have a part to play!
A great night of teamwork, discussion and encouragement as we challenged our teens to think about how they can use the gifts God has given them! ❤

There will be no youth group next week but we will be meeting tomorrow at Shotts Scout hall from 10:45. We hope to see you there. by @cornerstoneshotts

👟 THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR BODY SERIES! 👣

On Tuesday we finished our journey looking at the amazing bodies God has created, and our final lesson was all about feet!

Our memory verse was Proverbs 3:5–6, where we learned about trusting God and allowing Him to guide our steps.

For our activity, we had a go at block ink printing, creating our own footprints! We talked about how our feet leave footprints showing where we’ve been and where we’re going. In the same way, the way we live our lives should leave evidence of whether we are walking with God and following His ways.

A great way to finish our body series, with plenty of creativity and messy hands along the way! 🎨😂

Kids Club is off next week for the October break, but we’d love to see you at church!

⛪ Sunday at 10:45am, Shotts Scout Hall

Tonight we’re finishing our journey through the body by looking at our feet and thinking about what it means to trust God with every step we take.

📖 Proverbs 3:5–6

We’ll also be getting creative with some block ink printing 🎨 and for dinner the kids will be making their own sandwiches 🥪

On Wednesday, the youth took over! 🙌 They cooked, they cleaned, they served and they led.

One of our young people led a Bible study on our identity in Christ. They loved the evening so much that they’ve already asked to do it again!

It was lovely to see them taking responsibility, serving one another and exploring God’s Word together.

Please pray that their commitment grows, their faith deepens and their walk with Christ becomes stronger. ❤️ by @cornerstoneshotts

On Tuesday we continued our journey looking at the amazing bodies God has created, and this week it was all about our hands!
We looked at Colossians 3:23 and talked about how we can use our hands to serve God, help others and do everything with all our hearts.
For our activity, most of us got creative and made our own painted canvases using our handprints. There were some brilliant creations and plenty of paint-covered hands by the end! 🎨😂
And, of course, we enjoyed plenty of pizza for dinner! 🍕
Another great Tuesday night with our amazing kids!
👟 Next week we’re looking at feet, with a special focus on shoes! ❤ by @cornerstoneshotts

Obadiah might be the shortest book in the Old Testament, but it leaves us with a challenge that is difficult to ignore.
It’s easy to recognise sin when it belongs to somebody else. It’s much harder to invite God to examine the attitudes we’ve justified, the grudges we’ve protected and the areas of our lives we’ve kept firmly under our own control.
The wonderful thing about God’s Word is that it doesn’t expose our hearts simply to leave us feeling condemned. It calls us to repentance and points us towards the grace that can genuinely change us.
So don’t just read Obadiah as a warning from history. Allow the Lord to use it to examine your heart today.
