My dear Boo, I’m so sorry this horrible viral disease took you from us 💔
Feline Panleukopenia is absolutely devastating. Kittens have a 90% mortality rate if not acted on fast. Boo had such a fast decline overnight that by 7am Monday I had to put him down because the Vet advised me that even with treatment, his odds of surviving were so very low.
There is no cure for Panleuk, but vaccines can prevent it and it is the most effective way to protect cats of all ages, especially the younger kittens who are at most risk of fatality.
Please vaccinate your cats and make sure they are up to date on all vaccines as Panleuk is extremely contagious and can stay on surfaces for up to a year because of how resilient it is.
Pumpkin and Moon are doing well and tested negative for it but I will continue monitoring them so they can finally get to their forever homes.

On the first day of spooky season my true love gave to me

Three kitties that went from living outside to being safe and sound in my home, receiving medical care, food and love
just in time for spooky season!

October is Black Cat Awareness Month 🐈‍⬛ and so I’d like to bring awareness to this.
Black cats are less likely to get adopted AND more vulnerable to bad people, especially during this month, due to the negative stigma and superstitions surrounding them.
It’s a miracle these little babies were brought to my rescue in time because who knows what atrocities they could have faced out there 😿.
They’re not bad luck, they’re precious little souls who have been warming my heart and giving me a reason to smile.

TNR is so important. Opening your heart to help is so important. Kora is in good hands and I’ll continue to care for her in hopes that we can find her a forever home someday.

I will be entirely honest with you guys when I say it hasn’t been easy. Things like food, litter, pee pee pads, spay/neuter, medications all start to add up and I’ve been having to do it alone so if anyone wants to check my GoFundMe or Amazon wishlist (in bio), that would be greatly appreciated ❤️‍🩹 I want to continue to do this for my community Corona cats but in order to do so, help is needed. Thank you 😸

Hi everyone! I’ve been a little MIA but I just wanted to pop in to say I’m still here and I’m ready to put in the work to provide resources and help to the best of my ability 😸.
September was a busy month due to my own cat going to the ER, losing newborns, fostering a semi feral mama and 1 hospital visit + 4 follow up rabies vaccines later .. but I’m here and excited to share these small achievements.

With the colder months approaching this will only get harder but as always, do what you can when you can 🤍 by @corona.cats

Happy to announce that this precious little man is going to a beautiful home!

The job doesn’t end here, there are still many more cats in my neighborhood that need homes whether it be from fostering or adopting. It hasn’t even been 24 hours and I’m obsessed with this little guy 🖤
I’ve already had 2 foster fails this year and unfortunately can’t have a third :(
If anyone is interested in giving him a chance , please dm me, his time is extremely limited.
He deserves more than the streets.

It sure was raining CATS and dogs. 🥁
Okay but on a serious note: this one’s a tricky situation.
TNR (trap-neuter-RETURN) community cats are meant to live outdoors once they are fixed and vaccinated.
In this case, this little dude was different. He’s not feral, he’s approachable for loving pets but he also isn’t super well known around the neighborhood, so where’d he come from?
We don’t know. What we do know is because of his sweetness he should be given a chance to thrive in a home but without a foster or better yet an adopter, he won’t get to experience that. For all we know he may be thriving as an outdoor cat.
He has been posted online as missing and I will be taking him to check if he is chipped tomorrow.
The sad reality is that not all cats find a happy home and in most cases, with the overcapacity at shelters and no fosters he might have to be released back into the streets. I’m just grateful someone cared enough to do the most important part which was getting him fixed and vaccinated.

Please offer a helping hand when you can. If you can provide an animal with shelter on days like this, please do so. Don’t be that miserable person that wanted this cat out. #tnr #cat #nyc #foster #adoptdontshop by @corona.cats

Momo’s first wellness exam went so well! His snap test for FIV/FeLV came out negative which I’m really happy about because I’ve been wanting to introduce him to possible new friends like Rocky and Chiquita.🐈🐈‍⬛
We are now up to date on vaccines 💉 (he took it like a champ)
He’s nearly 8 pounds and is estimated to be around 7 months old so he’s definitely on track. ✅
Because he’s an older kitten, it’s taking him more time to adjust and open up. He loves back scratches and pets but is still timid and loves to hide but that’s okay, baby steps. 🐾 🐾 🐾

A little bit about me.
My name is Daniela and I’ve loved cats ever since I can remember. My first cat was my beautiful and perfect boy named Mimoso, he lived to be 15 years old.
I currently have 2 cats, Rocky and Chiquita and am fostering to adopt a third named Momo. All are from the streets from where I rescued them.
My job requires me to drive around and so for the past 4 years I’ve been able to stop and help every kitty I see along the way.
I currently volunteer at a cat shelter which has thankfully taught me so much about the importance of cat care and being an advocate for those in need.
For years, it’s always been my mom and I rescuing cats or providing for our colony cats with shelter and basic necessities. Finding them homes or offering our love from a distance (some cats prefer to keep their distance).
We care for them purely out of love and it wasn’t until my hardest challenge (see previous posts for the story) that I realized we can do more if we set our mind to it.
This page is dedicated to spreading awareness and hopefully gaining an audience of people who can help when it is needed!

All they needed was comfort and love ❤️‍🩹.

After a long two weeks of patience, heartbreak, hard work and dedication, all 19 cats have successfully been rescued. Some didn’t make it but I rest easy knowing there’s no more suffering.

Giving them the chance to experience what love, safety and full bellies feels like makes it all worth it, just look at how they’ve come out of their little shells 🥹

Here’s to a life full of nothing but love and happiness and thanks to everyone who has donated and shared my story, they are now on track to receive the medical help they need to be ready for their foster or forever home ❤️‍🩹😸🏠

If you ever see an animal in need, don’t hesitate to help. One small action can change their whole life.
