COROS athlete Sylvain Garza finished 3rd as a team at the Black Bass World Championship, representing the French national team.

It was an intense competition where he was discovering a new lake and a new environment. He relied on his COROS watch to monitor his fishing, track the zones, and debrief with Team France to optimize travels, fishing areas, and the techniques to prioritize.

As you can see in the data, he hit quite a few spots.

With his heart rate layered over the fishing segments, can you spot the moments when he caught fish? by @corosfishing

OPTIMIZE YOUR DAY ON THE WATER

Time on the water disappears fast. Whether you’re grinding a 3-day tournament or squeezing in a Saturday morning, the real challenge isn’t the fishing itself — it’s not knowing where the fish actually are.

Here’s how the COROS Fishing Suite helps you spend more time catching:

Fishing Activity Log: tracks exactly how much time you spend fishing vs. moving, so dead water becomes obvious

Voice Pin: log a catch hands-free with species, weight, bait, and exact GPS location. No screen, no pen, no time lost

Live conditions on your wrist: temperature, pressure, wind, tide, and moon phase, so you can react to the bite before it changes

HYDROP sensor: reads temperature, clarity, and light straight through the water column, so you know exactly which depth to fish

Every catch, every condition, every spot, building a library you can actually use, trip after trip. by @corosfishing

The possibilities with the COROS Nomad keep expanding.
Have been adding a picture of the structure I’m marking on my Humminbird so I can remember exactly what it was that I scanned. by @corosfishing

Using the @corosfishing HYDROP + NOMAD Watch to sample water temperature inside grass mats! šŸ„µšŸ”„šŸŽ£

Being able to check isolated areas or specific pieces of cover is what really makes the HYDROP beneficial.

The water under this mat is extremely hot right now, but in another month or two, this same type of area could become a HUGE magnet as water temperatures start to drop.

Boat slips, shade lines, grass mats, protected pockets, opposing sides of the lake… being able to check these areas individually and see just how much the temperature can vary is really eye-opening.

And it’s something I can use throughout every season—whether the fish are seeking warmer or cooler water. Not just checking surface temperature either, but getting readings throughout the entire water column.

The more I understand about what’s happening below the surface, the better decisions I can make to locate fish! šŸŽ£šŸ™Œ

What areas would YOU use the HYDROP to check? šŸ‘‡

Very cool using the Coros Nomad fishing watch in a tournament and reflecting back on the data between the 2 days fishing. Although I forgot to log fish captures I can see my heart rate rise and match that with fish captures throughout the day. The watch automatically logs when you’re fishing and when you’re moving. Going through the data to match that with tide times and the barometer is a great feature. Seeing the details after day when I know where I spent too much time travelling and used that on the second day fishing the right areas. So keen to really pick this watch apart and utilise it to its full potential. by @corosfishing

TEAM COROS QUALIFIES FOR THE FINAL

For their first appearance at the Challenge 1max2peche, Team COROS: Florent Noël and Julien Mouton. They finished 2nd in their group, securing their spot in the final.

This is a multi-species competition, where the NOMAD watch and HYDROP sensor played a key role.
They used both products live on the water, see how here: https://www.youtube.com/live/F-L2E8u3Pj0?si=Sl1v8kziR0YvBu64&t=2265 by @corosfishing

Great day out with the Kaiser, @fransvanderputte while fishing a crystal clear lake. Several big fish while exploring new spots made this a fantastic kickoff for Autumn šŸ’Ŗ

I have been using the COROS Nomad for a while and I love the versatility you have with this watch. Wind is everything for us fanatic pike anglers and now I can check accurate local wind predications without having to whip out my phone. Tides, barometric pressure, temperature… Waypoint management, tracking and analyzing your fishing day in the COROS app, there are so many benefits. Plus not having to charge my Apple Watch every night is one less thing I need to worry about 🤣 by @corosfishing

I track most of my fishing days now with my @corosfishing NOMAD and as you can see you can really find out different things in fishing. This day had perfect conditions, windy, wavy and also cloudy and the fish tend to bite over the whole six hours. The air pressure was consistent so there was no need to change any tactics or so. For me this watch is a cool tool to look back on your fishing day and is also the easiest choice to save spots and all the information around the fish that you caugth via voice pin. Definitely recommend it!

VICE-CHAMPIONS OF FRANCE: SYLVAIN & MICKAEL’S SEASON FINALE

The Black Bass Ligue season came to a thrilling conclusion this year in Fongrave, on the Lot River.

With a strong 2nd-place finish, our duo Sylvain Garza and Mickael Weill secured the title of 2026 French Bass Vice-Champions, just one year after becoming French Champions in 2025.

Once again, this duo delivered an outstanding performance, proving their consistency and competitiveness at the highest level.

And the adventure continues. Sylvain and Mickael are heading to Arkansas, USA, in early October for the Bass World Championship.

During both pre-fishing and competition, Sylvain consistently uses his NOMAD to precisely geolocate his catches and key spots, a reliable way to keep all his data in one place, analyze every detail, and have everything at a glance when it matters most on game day.

From French Champions to Vice-Champions, and now on to the World Championship.

Let’s go, Sylvain and Mickael! by @corosfishing
