Beyond, a necessary question arises: how does one become a body of light? Light, electromagnetic radiation that can be detected by the human eye. Ungraspable, lacking form, no single answer can satisfy the question: What is light? How do we find ourselves inside of it? Light reveals, but with overabundance can also obscure. The human eye is very sensitive, and exposure to direct sunlight, to stare directly into the sun, can lead to solar retinopathy, pterygium, cataracts, often blindness. An overpushed flash drowning out detail in a photograph. A fleeting sensation. Past even the idea of movement. Vision itself.

But perhaps [these] garments pose the question: if the body cannot become light, can the body inhabit light? There have been whispers in the past that [certain] garments negate the body: a false statement to be sure; for the garments do not negate the body as much as they require a conversation. There is refusal to allow mankind the hierarchical insistence, domination. The figure, the human, does not wear the reflective garments. Rather, the wearer dissolves into them, permitted temporary habitation of this idea of light: formless vision, a float, an echo of the solar luxuriance reigning from above.

when does an algorithmic poellian dream become a nightmare?

pinterest "auto suggested" a board for me containing a bunch of poell garments, contemporary art, and arctic explorers, so i shaped it a bit more and then edited some favorites to put this together. i have been making use of chance operations in my creative endeavors for years now (see, especially, my book IN THE DESERT OF MUTE SQUARES), so it felt like a natural exercise here. embrace caprice! by @corpstext
