I can’t believe we closed Ain’t Too Proud on Broadway this time last year! What an amazing production. This show pushed me in ways I never thought possible! I did things and sang things on stage that I never thought I’d do! I worked with one of the most talented casts that I’ve ever worked with and made memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life! These are 2 of my favorite moments I’ve ever had on stage, both from Ain’t Too Proud on Broadway. “For Once in My Life” and “Gloria”. This industry is tough, so when moments like this happen, embrace them! ❤️ #lucky #thankful #broadway #broadwaymusical #theatre #theatrelife #musicaltheatre #musical #musicaltheatrelife #actor #actorslife #playbill #musicals_top_video #thrtemptations #newyork #newyorkcity #newyorktheatre #dream #livingthedream #ainttooproudmusical @ainttooproudmusical taken in New York City Times Square by @correywest

Had a blast singing lead on “Get Ready” with some other pretty awesome Broadway Musicals. Earlier this year, I was awarded the National Gold Medallion for Theatre Arts Education Excellence through the John F. Kennedy Center in DC! The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Gold Medallion is the most prestigious regional honor awarded in educational theater. It recognizes individuals and organizations that make extraordinary contributions to teaching and producing theater, and show deep dedication to the goals of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. To say that I am honored is an understatement. Having a small hand in teaching/fostering the future of this industry has been one of my greatest accomplishments! Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. You have all truly changed my life. ❤️ #theatre #actf #actors #musicaltheatre #kennedycenter taken in Washington, DC by @correywest

We closed this show a couple of weeks ago and I’m still in denial. 😞 Soooo grateful for this show and these people! This experience and Zora Neale Hurston’s words will live with me forever. I’m so excited for the future of this show and even more excited for more audiences to experience it. I didn’t have performing in an unearthed Zora Neale Hurston Play at Yale Rep on my bingo card for 2025! And YES! That IS me playing the trombone!!!! 🎉 To say I’m blessed is an understatement! ❤️ #zoranealehurston #play #theatre #newwork #actor #actorsofinstagram #actorslife🎬 #yale #yalerepertorytheatre #playbill #broadwayworld #blessed #spunk taken in Yale Repertory Theatre by @correywest

Insanely excited to be a part of this 90+ year old play by Zora Neale Hurston. It was nearly lost after she sent it to the Library of Congress for copyright purposes and recently found. Stoked that we get to bring this powerful and important piece to life for the 1st time! I always express how lucky I am to be able to get to do what I do, but this process with the team at this theatre is truly a dream come true! Come see us at Yale Rep Theatre!!!! #actors #actorslife🎬 -#play #newplay #broadway #broadwayworld #playbill #zoranealehurston #yale #yalerepertorytheatre #spunk taken in Yale Repertory Theatre by @correywest

Bert has been a dream role of mine for a VERY long time and I was finally able to live that dream this summer! I am happy to report that it was everything I hoped it would be! I couldn’t have asked for a better theatre to do it at or a better cast to perform it with! @lydiaruthdawson is a “Practically Perfect” Mary Poppins and I’m so proud of what we created! You kept me sane and made me feel loved and appreciated. I’m so honored to have shared the stage with you and to call you a friend! Love you. ❤️ Shout out to @andrewwwinans , @victoria_yeager and @n8a11en for leading this ship. An insane dream team! Thank you Michelle for making it happen and to the amazing creative/crew/tech teams for bringing it to life! Truly a summer I will never forget! ❤️ #marypoppinsthemusical #marypoppins #musical #theatre #musicaltheatre #musicaltheatrelife #broadway #broadwayworld #dickvandyke #stepintime #julieandrews #actorslife🎬 #actorsofinstagram #tapdancer #tapdancing #playbill taken in Cherry Tree Lane by @correywest

This was honesty one of the best summers of my life! Getting to perform in the Michigan premiere of “Primary Trust” was a dream come true. I’ve been wanting to do this Pulitzer Prize winning play for the last couple of years and I feel so blessed and lucky to have finally done it! Bringing Kenneth to life was one of the hardest emotional journey’s I’ve ever taken on stage, but it’s been one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve ever had as an actor! The reactions from audience members were incredible. The personal messages I received through the mail and social media were unexpected, but extremely touching and welcome. It’s amazing how a simple story of friendship, love, balance and time could resonate with so many. Thank you Michelle Bombe, Chuma Gault and Hope Repetory Theatre for trusting me with this story. I’m so proud of what we did! It was an honor and a privilege and I will carry this experience with me for the rest of my life!!! @mgbombe @hopereptheatre #primarytrust #primarytrustplay #theatre #actor #actors #actorslife🎬 #actorsofinstagram #pulitzerprize #dreamrole #broadway #broadwayworld #broadwayshow #playbill taken in Hope Repertory Theatre by @correywest

This was a very special show, with very special people. The show closed a few weeks ago, but I wanted to pop on here to celebrate a successful run! Thanks to everyone involved. Luckily, this isn’t the end of our show’s journey and I can’t wait to be back on stage with these rock stars in a couple of months! This show is going places and I’m excited to be a part of it! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ #johnnycash #junecarter #junecartercash #lajollaplayhouse #theatre #musical #musicaltheatrelife #musicaltheatre #broadwaymusicals #newmusicalert #newmusicalert🚨 #actorslife taken in La Jolla Playhouse by @correywest
