An evening of beef, rodeo culture, and regenerative agriculture told through photography and story.

Join Mad Agriculture on Saturday, January 17, at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado for a gathering centered on The West Is, a photo essay and interview by Denver-based photographer Ian Warren, featured in Mad Agriculture Journal Issue 14. Warren’s work documents the contemporary West as it is lived and worked today, rooted in rodeo culture, rural labor, and deep relationships between land, animals, and people.

Photographs from The West Is will be exhibited throughout the duration of the National Western Stock Show, inviting viewers to encounter the work within the living context of the event itself. This evening offers a moment to come together around the images through conversation, food, and drinks.

Hosted inside the historic Livestock Exchange Building at the National Western Center, guests will gather over cocktails from Dry Land Distillers and beef-forward bites from Corrida Boulder, featuring Corrida Cattle Company beef, alongside partners The Stockton Restaurant and Ian Warren.

Ranchers, riders, artists, writers, and community members are invited to reflect on how storytelling shapes our understanding of land, labor, and stewardship in the modern West.
