I’ve been debating whether to even share this because I feel a little imposter-ish. 😂

I’m only 7 weeks in. I haven’t lost 50 pounds. I’m not running marathons. But then I looked at these screenshots…

My Apple Watch says that 7 weeks ago I averaged 8 exercise minutes a day.

Eight.

Now I’m averaging around 40 minutes a day.

When I say this was HARD to start… I mean it.

Somewhere after turning 40, my body was just like, “Nah.”

Over the last couple years I gained almost 20 pounds without really changing much. I got weaker than I’d ever been, had no energy, and my routine became wake up, work all day, go home, work some more, eat dinner, and go to bed.

I didn’t even eat breakfast. Half the time I skipped lunch too.

Seven weeks ago I finally decided I couldn’t keep heading in that direction.

The scale is only down about 7 pounds, but honestly I’m more excited about everything else.

I have muscles again. 😂

I’m lifting weights I couldn’t lift a month ago. My clothes don’t fit differently yet, but my body definitely feels different. I don’t dread every workout anymore, and making healthier food choices is becoming normal instead of feeling like punishment.

I think being a business owner has actually helped a lot.

When you own a business, you don’t get to quit just because you’re tired or don’t feel motivated that day. You show up anyway because the work still has to get done.

Turns out fitness works the same way.

Most days I don’t wake up excited to work out. I just do it because I know one workout isn’t changing my life… but 50 of them probably will.

I’ve still got a long way to go.

I want to be stronger.
I want to run a mile without feeling like I’m dying.
And yes… I’d love to fit back into my 30-something clothes again. 😂

So here’s to 7 weeks of showing up. Even on the days I didn’t want to. by @corriland

We just had the BEST time camping at @carolina.beachstatepark 🌿⛺️

Our little “cul-de-sac of tents” setup turned out so perfect 😂 The dogs had room to roam, we had our own little private beach area on the river, the bath house was surprisingly clean, and the weather could not have been better. Cool breeze, shade from all the trees, and just enough sunshine to make everything feel peaceful and beautiful.

Also… the FOOD 👏🏼 Camping meals are seriously underrated. Let me know if y’all need camping food ideas because we absolutely ate GOOD this weekend 😂

Sometimes you really just need a few days of nature, fresh air, good people, good food, and no schedule.

And happy 20th birthday, Michaela ❤️ This was such a fun way to kick off your next trip around the sun taken in Carolina Beach State Park by @corriland

Day 2 in Wilmington 🌞

Woke up and decided beach mode was the only acceptable plan. Headed past Kure Beach to Fort Fisher State Recreation Area so we could drive out, let the dogs roam free… or in Copper’s case, supervise from a comfy spot and nap. 🐶🌊😴 taken in Fort Fisher State Recreation Area by @corriland

Day 1 in Wilmington ☀️

Checked into our downtown Airbnb, then immediately went into explore mode. First stop: @currentilm Coffee for caffeine… and yes, Copper got a treat too. 🐶☕️

Next stop: Wrightsville Beach where we quickly learned dogs aren’t allowed after April 1 😅 and that traffic runs on one road in, one road out chaos. But hey… island time. 🤷‍♀️🌴

Dinner at Indochine was unreal! the vibe, the service, the food. We may or may not have ordered all the appetizers. No regrets. 🥟🔥

Ended the night on the Wilmington Riverwalk right at sunset, wandered some shops, grabbed dessert, and watched the boats and people drift by.

Honestly… a pretty perfect first day. ✨ taken in Wilmington, North Carolina by @corriland

2025, a quick look back.

We started the year in Italy—Rome to Sorrento to the Amalfi Coast—one of those trips that resets your nervous system and reminds you why traveling outside of your bubble matters.

We celebrated 13 years of marriage, a few milestone birthdays, and became dog grandparents 🐾.

We worked a lot—pivoted our business, let go of what no longer fit, and slowly started rebuilding something that feels more aligned (even if it’s happening in between long days and very little time off).

We squeezed in beach days, mountain trips, ghost tours, family weekends, and our first local municipal election—while living through a year that often felt heavy, frustrating, and deeply unsettling at the national level.

Then it snowed in December (in NC?!) and somehow the year wrapped itself up.

This year taught me a lot about reflection, boundaries, letting go, and choosing intention over momentum.

Looking ahead to 2026: more clarity, more rest, more alignment and building a life and business that actually support the people living it.

Onward.
