A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Woman.

Please make an effort to read between the lines that shape me and place me in the right context for I am more than just the quick stringing of vaguely thought out words; I am a lifetime of choices made for reasons far beyond the surface of any imagination. I am beyond the completeness of words, sentences, paragraphs, essays and books. Those things are finished. Instead I am a hanging clause, a riveting draft,

Dear body, 🧘🏾‍♀️👩🏾‍❤️‍💋‍👩🏾👭🏾💓💌
When I look at you, I choose to no longer look at you through the magnifying glass of others' eyes. I see your innocence just as much as I see your beauty. I see the sensuality in your curves but also the strength and protection it brings me in its shape. I see the sensuality in your cleavage but also the child's life it's built to sustain and feed one day. I see the portal of life itself in my most private area and wince at the thought that others may put it under a microscope ( both literally and metaphorically) and reduce it to something as meaningless and one dimensional as a fuck symbol. I am a witness to the pleasure my portal brings ;) lol yet I know deeply that it is a builder of nations and that that too is a pleasure and mystery no one can truly explain. I see that your beauty is involuntary, you exist with no political meaning behind you until society has had a look at you. I see the joy in your eyes and lips now that you've chosen to just be as weightless yet full of life like a bird set free. I know the serpent whispered to you that you're naked and at first you truly believed but now you have knowing that you can't help how you're perceived. Your ears hear the words " Cover up!" but your tongue tells these losers to fix their eyes if they look at you and all they see is the way you please! You rebel you. Your posture screams "it ain't that serious!" This is just your body caught in angles that offends others because it demands that they fix their eyes and train their minds to see beyond the picture, to try to feel the moment that existed when it was taken or hear the joy in the holders heart that she was capable of embracing. taken in Siboney Beach Club by @cortnieaska
