PROMENADA food court. 2026.
The design is based on the idea of “democratizing luxury”, a principle visible across many of our projects.
Hence, a significant number of table tops are in marble, ash solid wood is used extensively, a large proportion of the seating consists of highly comfortable upholstered sofas, while the standard furniture comes from brands such as Emeco or HAY. The experience is closer to a premium restaurant rather than to the conventional food court.
Frontage is extremely aligned as one long stainless steel ribbon since previous experiences had shown that the more freedom each tenant is given to design their individual frontage, the more unpredictable and, above all, uneven, the results become, creating a sense of disorder rather than diversity.
Frontage is in stainless steel, as an extension of the kitchens behind. Each unit features its brand logo but all logos comply to same techniques and dimensions, defined through a clear design manual.
Seating is predominantly fixed, structured and ordered through parapets to create corridors and alcoves — “neighbourhoods”. This prevents furniture from being moved around, another phenomenon often happening in food courts which contributes to a sense of disorder and un-tidiness.
The interior is essentially monochromatic, built around different shades of beige, sand and terracotta, the columns, flooring and timber elements.
At convenient distance there are trays return areas and hand-washing stations. These are conceived as stainless-steel objects, given a friendly character by the presence of two perforated “eyes”.
The polka dot ceiling pattern brings a certain happy feel. Some light sources are concealed by the dishes, while others are reflected off them; the resulting effect ensures diffused, optimal lighting.

Why is it that in the Cyclades almost everything man made is a thing of beauty?
And then: why is it that in most of the world a majority of the man made things are rather ugly?
How did we loose the innate instinct for pleasant and adequate proportions, for color, for scale and, not least, for visual discipline?
The Greeks from the Cyclades (Kea, Sifnos, Paros, Mykonos, Milos, etc.) don’t strike at first as particularly disciplined or more educated than their countrymen and still the architectural output is far superior. Of course there is a strict regulation but strict regulations exist also in oder parts of the world and they fail to produce much: good proportions or even order to say nothing about beauty. In Bucharest, for example, belive it or not, we have one of the stricter (and tangled) urban regulations and similarly tangled bureaucratic authorities and self important institutions resulting in a paricularly disorderly and visually unpleasant developed city, not to mention the almost total neglect of heritage guised under extreme “protection”… Be like the Cyclades! taken in Greece-Cyclades by @corvinsta

The first of our eight projects yet for French Revolution Eclairs, 2019, now closes for structural works on the building.
Trying to establish a clean and simple identity while contextual nonetheless.
The solid limestone sculpted classical column elements, stone cladding and color mirror the ones from the across the street historical landmark Romanian Athenaeum.
The limestone and classical elements are in stark contrast to stainless steel elements and PVC strip curtains.
A full height mirror doubles the otherwise very small space.

For some of our projects we developed the visual identity and, for some, the naming, as part of a whole coherent concept:
1. Centrale Pizza Bar 2022 Naming and logo (Needed instant recognition hence the proportion of a C that is overused which makes it familiar while in combination with the squarish letters of Milan Modernism origin still keeps it original and memorable)
2. Serafim 2023, bar Naming and visual identity (is an angel, the closest to God. No link whatsoever to the coffe bar and the disruption makes it memorable. The logo is a tribute to Italian brands from the 50’s)
3. Atelier Mecanic 2010 Naming and Visual identity (Mechanical Workshop. Bar. Typical Socialist symbol to go with the theme of the bar.) the cogwheel is alao a sun.
4. P+1 2024 Naming and logo. (Means Grounfloor + 1st floor as it was a main concern to make people aware there is a 1st floor
5. BRICI 2016. (brici means razor in Romanian but also sharp/cool/great/perfect, for a barber shop). Naming and Visual Identity
6. Bar Bar 2025 (Bar is a bar. Bar-bar means the real BAR but also Barbarian, for some epic parties. The somehow gothic script is because its location in the basement of an old palace/mansion)
7. BUN 2025 Naming and logo (Restaurant. Bun means “good”. Letters are extremely fat and solid with only little bites missing out, as from a delicious meal)
8. Sera Eden 2020 Naming and logo (Letters are in the shape of the iconic greenhouse building)
9. Zambotti 2022 Naming and logo (Cone gelato brand) Needed instant recognition as a classic Italian brand.
10. Hare 2020
11. Paine si Vin 2016. Logo. A somehow humorous take on the Bread and wine being the substances of the Holy communion. Incidentally, the symbol of the Philocalia is also a P and a V and the combination is also in the shape of a wine glass.
12. Eden (the underground club had a memorable cylindrical vaulted low ceiling and it was always crowded, so same were the letters in the logo)
13. La Gloire (premium real estate developer)
14. Refresh (juice bar)
15. Sardin Italian restaurant
16 Salon Golescu
