POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’ve been hesitant to make this post and I don’t know why. Maybe for fear people would see me differently, but if anything I am better than I was before.

About a year ago I wasn’t where I am today in my faith, I didn’t have it figured out, and I still don’t.

I’ve been consistently going to @rivercitynb church with @tmcgill_ and have delved into the Bible just about every day as well as begin attending a men’s Bible study. I didn’t know it but I have been building something I needed.

There wasn’t a sudden shift, I didn’t just become religious all of a sudden, it’s been a deep gradual surrender, accepting that everything is in God’s hands, and it’s my job to continue to show up, have faith, and take on the opportunities He presents me that build towards the vision He’s placed in front of me.

He answers prayers. I’ve watched it happen for people I love. As for myself, not always the way I expect or pray for, but through sermons that hit too perfectly to be timing, through what I read on exactly the right morning, through doors opening and closing in ways that make too much sense in hindsight to call coincidence.

The world is loud and heavy right now. This is what’s grounding me and brings me peace.

I’m not perfect. Just faithful.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

What an unforgettable and powerful night with @tmcgill_ full of worship to our favorite songs and a powerful sermon as we had the opportunity to experience @elevationworship at their San Antonio stop.

@stevenfurtick went over Psalms 1-4 and how we need to condition and continuously fall back on our faith and that no matter what you are going through, to remember that you have the Father by your side.

He used such a great analogy that I can’t recite verbatim but it went like this

“Worship is like tilling the field, breaking apart the rocks of your heart, reading the word is planting the seeds in that field”

“Be merciful to me, my God, for my enemies are in hot pursuit; all day long they press their attack. My adversaries pursue me all day long; in their pride many are attacking me. When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV

Something I do is time stamp photos or moments with Archie in my story pretty often.

It’s almost like my photo album of old that our parents had growing up with the dates in the bottom corners.

It was just something I started and this morning I maxed out the first highlight of his photos. I don’t do it as often as I’d like but looking back through the other thousands of photos and videos that have been collected in his lifetime, he’s had a wild adventure so far.

Archie’s coming up on 7 years old and is still a puppy dog at heart full of energy, here’s to many more cherished moments with my back seater and best friend! by @coryabergman

Growing up, my dad, brother and I would always get into things together. Kelly and I started skateboarding? @bergman_don naturally picks his up and gets back into it with us. We play sports? He wants to coach our teams. He starts mountain biking, Kelly and I naturally get into it too.

When I took on Leadville in August, my dad made the trip from Florida to come out and crew for me and see me take on this endeavor.

That’s why now in hindsight, it’s no surprise to me that about a week after I took on the Leadville 100 MTB, he tells me he signed up for the guaranteed entry with @boundlesscoaching_ next year to do it with me.

I was stoked, and also thinking, man i don’t know if he knows what he got himself into. I was still undecided on if I’d go for redemption this coming year or the year after, but this made the decision for me.

With the guaranteed entry not being an option this year. I am taking on the @austin_rattler_tx this coming November to attempt to either qualify or get my name drawn for an entry token for Leadville!

There are a few other options if I am unlucky but I am locked in, training for an opportunity I’d cherish for a lifetime, to take on the hardest mountain bike race in the world with my dad.

Leadville 100 MTB 2026

Not the finish I was hoping for.

At 61 miles in I missed the cutoff to continue on. This came right after descending down Columbine.

Ultimately the altitude got me as I battled a hamstring cramp on the ascent up Columbine which ate up too much time.

I started strong, I felt great, I was having an incredible time. I knew what lay ahead though.

The climb broke me down physically, every step, every pedal was grueling.

I was talking to some finishers afterwards and they thought I was insane for this being the first ever race I’ve signed up for, and maybe I am.

That’s the thing though, I don’t want to sign up for things I know I can do, there’s no excitement in that. I want to put my skin on the line. I want to take on something I have to prepare for.

I didn’t think about this until afterwards but this was my misogi for the year. A challenge you take on that you have a legitimate 50% chance of failing.

While I may not of finished the race, I’m proud of the preparation I put into this effort. I felt good, and I left it all out there. I took on the world’s toughest mountain bike race, and man what an experience!

I have so much more respect for this race and all of those who take it on! The bonds i created with those on the way up the mountain will last a lifetime.

This journey has introduced me to so many new amazing people, shown me what I am capable of, and given me something I throughly enjoy and can apply my training too.

I cant thank everyone enough for your support, especially @tmcgill_ , her parents, my dad @bergman_don @do1054 @emilydasherr and also the @fromthegroundupproject crew, y’all’s stories inspired me so much through training.

Major thank you to my coach @joey_hassett and @boundlesscoaching_ I felt incredible going in.

This isn’t the last Leadville has seen of me. The goal still remains, I will finish the Leadville 100 MTB.

I stepped foot in the ring, and i got knocked down.

The fights not over though, and Im excited for the next race!

The Weapon of Choice. Thoughts going in.

Ready to take on @leadvilleraceseries tomorrow. The work is behind me and it’s time to put it to the test.

Fueling strategy is locked in, my crew is ready to rock, and I’m feeling confident in my preparation this past year.

The nerves haven’t set in yet for me and they usually don’t til I’m at the start line.

I can do this, I’ve put in the work, I’ve visualized this, I’m in a great headspace going in.

I know this is going to be hard, I’ve gone up against altitude of this magnitude before, it breaks you physically and mentally until there’s nothing but grit and determination left.

That’s what will get me across the finish. I will dig deep to those dark places where it’s just me up against that inner voice begging me to stop.

I made a last second addition to the bike and it’s a quote that the race founders echoed this morning at our brief.

“Make friends with pain and you’ll never be alone”

It sent a shiver down my spine when he said it, and it’ll be in my view for the entirety of the race.

I’m ready to go out and show out, make those who have supported me through this journey proud, and make a memory that’ll last a lifetime.

See you on the other side.

🚨 Big news for the Strength & Conditioning profession:

Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) just introduced the STRONG Act (H.R. 9527) legislation that would push the federal government to finally give S&C coaches our own occupational classification (SOC code).

Right now we’re lumped in with “Exercise Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors” or “Coaches and Scouts.” That means the wage data, workforce projections, and job growth stats used to plan and fund S&C positions nationwide don’t actually reflect our profession, our education, our certifications, or our impact.

This bill would direct OMB to establish a dedicated code for S&C coaches, ideally within the Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations group, recognizing us alongside other credentialed health professionals.

@nscaofficial backs it and it is endorsed by the APTA. Zero new taxpayer cost. Call your representatives to support this act!

For every coach out there building athletes, tactical operators, and warfighters, this is a step toward the recognition our field has earned.
