I can’t even begin to explain the absolute joy I have in posting about this fish.
This big gal has been in the works for 3+ years now since I got the Tarpon itch and for it to happen in one of my favorite places was just icing on the cake.

The universe decided to give me the best birthday present possible. My best dorado to date and it was a chunk! I cannot express how happy I am with this catch especially on today of all days 🤩 ringing in 31 with the best fish, my husband and being in an amazing place ❤️

There’s a little piece of my heart I leave behind in Mexico every time I’m there. The universe lost a good one yesterday. Curtis Loew, you were one in a million horse. I’ll be honest, I didn’t realize this one would hit me as hard as it has but after thinking about it, we owned Curtis for 20 years. This horse brought me through so much life, he helped me through high school, was my college ride or die, and was my young adult business support and career starter. We won so many cool things together, did interviews, mastered clinics, taught other riders together, and traveled all over the country together. Where I went this horse also went with me. He lived the life of luxury all the way up to the end where he was surrounded by people who love him as much as I do and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. @kathy.montgomery.902 my family cannot thank you enough for looking after him for the last parts of his life and we appreciate everything you did for him. I will forever be grateful to have had this horse in my life for so long. I hope you are resting peacefully in the big meadow in the sky ❤️ by @corymae3

This was such a cool day of fishing. We had a mini floatilla with @mountaindash1 @wylanier @twdamico and of course both of our pups and it was popping on salmon flies. I was super stoked to have the @southforklodge media guy @wylanier with us that day as I was going to be in a little interview at some point and we were also gathering some b roll footage when this one appeared. I had been floating a salmon fly all morning with not too much luck but switched to something funky (still a foam) and thought why not. Well all things decided to line up on this day. I had been saying all season that I needed to get my big brown while I was out here this summer and boy the snake did not disappoint. While this is definitely not the biggest brown in the river it’s still my biggest brown trout to date and I am so lucky to have caught it on a day when I was with some of my favorite people and to have gotten some actual professional photos taken of my pb brown!

Our last day in Alaska was nothing short of extraordinary! We did a fly out trip to a river outside of the lodge and had such a fun time bushwhacking and cruising the river with @capt.code I was able to knock off two species I’ve been wanting to catch for a while back to back which was sweet! Overall our time here was such an awesome experience and I highly encourage anyone that has Alaska on their list to check out our friend @sageindendi and @katmaitrophylodge we’ll certainly be back ❤️
