“Colours of Heritage”

1 of 2 of my artworks for “Stories of Malaysia” — @bic.fest ‘s 5th art festival that just had its opening on 12/9! It is truly such an honour to have my art featured alongside so many other local talents, and I’m incredibly grateful to all the people who have given me this opportunity to participate. Do stop by to have a look if you’re in Kuching, Sarawak 🇲🇾🤍

Description: This piece depicts a Malayan tiger, the national animal of Malaysia symbolising bravery and strength, with stripes resembling Dayak motifs. Surrounding it is florals all inspired by the various ethnic cultures we have in Malaysia; the national flower, the hibiscus, in the style of Malaysian batik, a traditional textile technique using wax-resists and vibrant dyes; the bold yet elegant Chinese-styled peonies; and the extravagantly intricate Indian patterns mixing designs from Mandalas and henna.

Audrey 🤍✨

Going through a crazy art block right now so I decided to finish a sketch I made all the way back from December last year 😭 Anyway, thank you all for 2k followers!!! Never thought I’d be able to hit that milestone in such a short span of time. I hope you guys will continue to enjoy the art I make (and also forgive my crazy inactivity) 🥹🤍

Pink Pantheress ❤️💙

Woah, who would’ve thought I’d draw her after Zara Larsson 🤯? Chose this reference because of her lips and regretted it halfway through rendering… but I’m done so hooray!

Zara Larsson 🩷🩷

Absolutely ADORE @sophiasinot ‘s work and this is by far my favourite! Will definitely draw more of her looks in the future!! Did go a bit overboard with the background though 🙈

A Girl Can Only Dream ⋆⭒˚.⋆

My first big surrealist piece in a while and it took a good amount of time to finish. Had no plan at all and was just going with the flow.

Referenced a dear friend of mine 💫

Prettier in Pink 💝✨

The most intensive study I’ve ever done! Lots of trial and error to figure out how to get the details of the clothes right. Thought this would be an easy piece and was proven otherwise 🥹 Overall, a very difficult yet fulfilling practice of drawing clothes!
