Wear for Life is nog steeds in volle gang ✂️

Elke week zien we meer mensen een tweede kans geven aan hun kleding: een rits laten repareren, een jasje ruilen voor iets nieuws, of gewoon eens rondkijken bij een swap-evenement in de buurt.
Repareren, ruilen, upcyclen: het zijn dé manieren om je kledingkast te laten groeien zonder dat je iets nieuws koopt. Met gratis naaiateliers in alle stadsdelen en regelmatige kledingswapfeestjes is er altijd wel iets te beleven in jouw buurt.

Woon jij in Amsterdam of Weesp? Dan kan je hier gratis aan meedoen, dankzij de samenwerking tussen Wear for Life en gemeente Amsterdam.

Something new is coming together in Bruges.

Ever wondered who actually made the clothes you're wearing? Or what circularity means? Or how cool slow fashion can look like? Or how soft yak wool feels?
This Friday, you can find out in person 👀

We're opening the doors of the COSH! Future of Fashion Circular Hub, right in the city centre of Brugge. It's a place to explore, try on and learn, where every piece comes with the story of who made it, where and how.

At the opening, some of the designers will be there to chat about their materials and craft. Think fine knitwear, pieces made from upcycled materials, handmade jewellery and cosmetics, from makers in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy ✨

Photodump of a very surreal September so far. I generally love live to mix the extremes. One day teacher, the other student. high end fashion weeks, down to earth community building and connecting on a ‘real’ level with people and their crafts.

I started September by moving into a new office. The building was tagged with graffiti everywhere so we (my partner and I) are painting and renovating and seeking out second hand furniture to ….. start something new. More news on Friday :-) but painting, cleaning at night, doing normal work during the week and grant writing during the weekend has been my August and September rythm.

I started September at the EU commission with a morning discussing the future of craftmenship in a fast changing tourism sector under pressure of climate change. Being put in the same panel like Booking.com and Airbnb? surreal!

I traveled to London invited by the marvelous @safia_minney to a panel with @sustainablefashionweek_uk @the_elephant_in_my_wardrobe and @tansyhoskins. Met @selvedgemagazine whom I immediately connected to our Indian Craft related members.

In August COSH! Signed up to Erasmus+ and we are receiving our first guest entrepreneur to the Hub this week. Francesca from @frii.shirt Firenze Italy comes to follow me and learn from entrepreneur to entrepreneur for six months. Costs covered by Erasmus+ she will be the co-host at the new COSH! future circular Fashion Textile Hub in the centre of Bruges 🔥.

We are opening this Friday! Comment ticket if you want an invite for the event. Members from Germany and Netherlands are coming to town.

Thursday I was invited to present the @cosh.digitalwardrobe learnings and statistics at the @circular.flanders and Green Deal Huren en Delen event in Leuven alongside @battmobilitybe and @toolsquare.io. We have insights of >20.000 wardrobes and it would shock you to know who the biggest retailer at the moment is, getting most sales in Belgium.
