I find myself forgetting to slow down. I remember what it was like to be a “young artist”, seemed like time was endless. I could take a whole day to get lost in thinking, planning, and making images. But as I got older and I set out a path for myself, life got busy, more important things always seemed to come up, excuses got made. And let’s be real, who has time when the world keeps moving? That next job isn’t gonna wait!

So I took some time this summer and slowed down. I spent a few hours making images I’d been thinking about but just couldn’t seem to find the time to make.

So grateful for my partner @kevnserna and one of my closest friends @izzecopes for encouraging me and being there to help make these images a reality. A big thank you to @hugo_palacios_3 for being the perfect subject.

Glad I made the time. ✨📸✨ by @cosmic_ghost

New work for @chicagomag ‘s Best Restaurants issue which is out now. This restaurant coming in at number 8 hits particularly close to home for me as @carnitas_uruapanchi has been a part of my family history since I was a kid. My grandmother would often bring me to grab lunch at their little spot on 18th street to grab tacos after our morning errands. Sunday family breakfast was not complete without a spread from Las Carnitas Uruapan. So happy to see this spot that’s been a staple in Pilsen not only expand to other locations but get the love it deserves. 💛📸 by @cosmic_ghost

@chicagomag ‘s 50 Best Restaurants issue has been released. Phenomenal work by @jdkess who pulled the list together and our dining editor @amycavanaugh for guiding us all. I had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented photographers to help bring these restaurants to life on the page. Shout out to @jeff_marini , @lucyhewett , @evanpjenkins , @garrettsweet for contributing this year.

Sharing a few of my own snaps from this feature. Pictured is @laopengyouchi in Ukrainian Village. Thank you to the team there for having us!

I can’t express how excited I am to finally be able to share this!! Earlier this spring I had the pleasure of working with the team over @wbezchicago & @vocalo to create a set of images for their new radio show Vocalo Hotline hosted by @nudiaonair . I’m so incredibly proud of this shoot. A huge shout out to the stellar team that helped me bring this visual to life. Could not have done any of this without you all.
