🧵🪡 Made my first skirt! It was quite easy in comparison to sewing the jacket. I thought it would be too much to wear together but here I am in all the plaid and loving it. It makes me want to pop the collar and give some sort of Rizzo stare. And if you are thinking grease or the rat… both would be correct.

It also makes me want diner coffee and a jukebox tune, but that could be because I am on a Twin Peaks kick tonight. Plaid will do that to a gal.

The lumber jacket is a pattern from the 1940s and the skirt is a basic design I put together in tailornova. My next goal is to learn how to make pockets because everythinggggg I’ve made makes me wish I had them in it. 😂

I made a haunted handbag! Or dare I call it a Cursed Clutch?? For today’s Drawlloween prompt, Scarytale Ending, I wanted to take a stab at sewing a possessed purse.

The prompt immediately made me think of the ending credits of a scary movie and I knew exactly what I wanted to make. Inspired by Italian toy theaters and spooky stone statues, this purse holds a secret… and possibly a soul or two. 👻

Yay! Spooky season is here and we actually got a super gloomy rainy day for Oct 1st. Finally a break from 100 degree weather 🥵

Some random recents: sewing projects (from digital to real life!!), bunnies, farm foods, empty rainy pumpkin patches… even a squash that looks like a ghost from Pac-Man! The best squash I’ve ever had. 👻 by @cosmopop

Lately, I’ve been appreciating sloppy writing. The kind that has commas where it shouldn’t, run-on sentences, and almost stream-of-consciousness vibes. The kind of verbal vomit that can only leave a human’s mouth. The kind that hasn’t been squeezed to perfection with every last drop of error digitally perfected. “To Err Is Human” someone once said (and it wasn’t originally Claude).

The bunnies decided to start the year out with some family drama which meant Gigi and Vessa had to be separated for their safety. In the rabbit world when they no longer get along you try trauma-bonding: you put them in a scary situation (someplace they’ve never been, stressful car ride, etc.) with the hopes they will comfort each other and work things out.

It’s easy for me to see that these beautiful lil creatures have things good and there’s no reason to fight! But my perspective isn’t at their level. It’s about five feet above to be exact.

I don’t know who’s (or what’s) view is beyond our magical marble of a world but I imagine a lot of the nonsense humans put ourselves through makes no sense to who’s-it (or what’s-it). Sure, no matter how thin you slice it, it will have two sides… but at the end of the day it’s still just ham.

At least this ham (points to self) is happy to report that the best buns in town are a happy family again. And boy it was nice to see mine. by @cosmopop

Whoever took over this simulation is clearly not qualified!

Burying my nose in a book about Johnny Appleseed 🍎 for a bite-sized book club of two (me and my momma). There’s so much to learn that I wasn’t taught in a small-town catholic classroom with my 20 other peers. I don’t remember facts well, as I’m all feelings. I’m more prone to write poetry than statements and spec sheets.

How can moments of beauty exist alongside moments so wrong? I guess heaven and hell in the same space belong. They share the same sky, the same earth, the same moon. I share my thoughts to a song in my room…

Anyways, I digress. The past weeks were filled with wonder provided by a few friends, a pair of scissors, and good ole Mother Nature.

📕 @mrdday13 sent me the best book, “Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered In a Quaint English Village” 🤩🔪 I love when my friends see unhinged stuff like this and think of me. Absolutely nailed it. Edward Gorey vibes but not in a rip-off sort of way. 10/10!

My friend, Ember, gifted me her old Apple Watch! I’ve been wanting one for the specific purpose of giving it a pocket watch vibe and she made that wish come true. This first iteration used a vintage necklace I had lying around. Not sure if it looks fancy or cheap. Maybe both but I like it!

Chopped 8 inches off my hair. It will go into a jar with other hair I’ve chopped before. I’ve no time to explain WHY, ok?! 🤣 by @cosmopop

Last sewing project of 2025 and first sewing project with my new (to me) machine! My boss gave me this beauty from the 1950s because he knew I would put it to use. I was intimidated at first - this machine does so much more!! Luckily, Mom was here to help me. It is in such great shape and works like a charm. They just don’t make things like they used to…

While strolling through an antique mall, mom spotted this Vogue sewing pattern. We found fabric at the thrift store and got to work. Going into 2026 like a lumberjack!
