If I wait any longer, the universe might just implode…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I just finished 4.4 and was not prepared for it to be a full on ugly cry. (Though I guess Himeko mentioning Irontomb should’ve been a hint…). In honor of Miss Himeko’s new form, I’d share photos of the true/newer form of another OG character, The Herta. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I decided to hold back on these photos initially because I didn’t want my grid to become a The Herta fanpage account but looking back that would’ve been the most in character move I could’ve done. When the last sparks of the fireworks have disappeared into the sky, they turn into rain and snow, and will fall upon the earth again, nourishing the land and nurturing humanity, so that someday they can be sent up into the sky again and display their magnificence… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It was a fireworks kind of weekend for many of us in the US. While I wasn’t feeling super festive, I did wear a Yoimiya inspired outfit for the day yesterday. So, in honor of Miss Naganohara Fireworks herself, here are images from my first cosplay shoot ever, circa Metrocon 2024. (Which also, if I remember correctly, happened to be 4th of July Weekend.)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Some behind the scenes notes: This was my first official cosplay photoshoot ever and I personally was very uncomfortable ahead of this shoot. (I was also very self conscious about the wig at the time…but really, given how little experience I had at the time, I wish I hadn’t been!) Looking at these photos now, I am so impressed with them and absolutely cannot believe I haven’t posted these images before, as they are ah-mazing!! The recommendation from @roocifer_cosplay to book with @velvetflamephoto for my first photoshoot was honestly the best move - because Lauren really helped me relax in a way I don’t know I would’ve done otherwise. And it shows in these images. Yes, another year has passed and once again I’ve missed Yoimiya’s birthday. But at least this time I’m only a day late. 🎂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She may be a pain in the butt to get into, but Yoimiya is always fun to bring to life. I also adore handing out fireworks, so I was happy to bring her out for @momocon this year. (Though, it would be nice to do her one of these times without losing a piece of the cosplay. The good times always past so quickly… See you next time. - Firefly 💚⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I could spend forever writing this post but still not be able to put into words how much Momocon meant to me this year, but I’m going to try…Because it was everything I hoped for and more. The post con depression is hitting harder than normal. 😭⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I turned an important age this year and to celebrate, we decided to go to Momocon for the first time. What I didn’t know is @roocifer_cosplay was going to surprise me and match my Firefly cosplay as Silver Wolf on Sunday and @allthingslauren93 was in on the whole thing! They both kept the secret from me all weekend. I can’t thank them enough for the amazing surprise! Let’s get out and find some inspiration. - Chiori 👘⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I’m finally on the other side of the Con Crunch for this weekend, which means I have a moment to post and reflect ahead of this next adventure. At the end of 2025, I had a blast bringing Chiori back to life at Holmat. While it’s hard to pick a favorite cosplay, this one is kind of always definitinately in the running. I guess that’s bound to happen when your character is a fashion designer, though.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Completely irrelevant to the above but, check out that flare on photo two! I’d say you look tough but, who am I kidding? - The Herta 🗝️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀One of the things that was super cool about ECCC was that there that were photographs dotted throughout the convention center that were available to take pictures of cosplayers. I’m three weeks late and a post short but I still can’t stop thinking about @emeraldcitycomiccon! My first major comic convention was a blast - largely because of the people I spent it with.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I really loved bringing The Herta & The Herta (pollen’s version) to life… as well as stepping out of my comfort zone and putting together my own take of Poison Ivy. You tell me when, I’m ready to go. I was born ready!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I cannot believe it’s been a year since I got to prance around as Jedi Anna during a friends’ vow renewal ceremony (the attire was cosplay!) I love reusing/reimagining older cosplays almost as much as I love being Anna.
