Today marks exactly one year without my grandmother. And I wanted to keep the latter I wrote to her here, because this page is like an archive. It’s a part of me and my story.

My legend. My role model. My grandma.

Honestly, this past year has been incredibly hard. I never expected it to be this difficult. Mental health struggles, losing myself, loneliness, and so many other problems brought me down to the lowest point. I honestly don’t even know how I made it through all of it.

Looking back, it almost feels like the past year never really happened. I was in such a state of shock that I simply stopped feeling anything.

With time, I slowly started coming back to myself and realizing that you’re still living through us. You left a piece of yourself in every one of us, and I notice it more and more often. I see you in us. I feel you around me.

On top of that, I’m surrounded by so many good people my family, my friends, and the people I’ve met along the way and I’m incredibly grateful for every one of them.

And probably the most important thing that kept me afloat was my dream. The thing that made me get out of bed in the morning and kept me awake at night, filling my head with thoughts about how to make it all come true.

Eventually, I realized that burying yourself in your own thoughts and living in the past is a road to nowhere if you want to turn your dreams into reality.

Little by little, things started getting easier. I slowly found my way back to music. I rethought my path and realized that, for me, making music is something much bigger and deeper than just a source of income or entertainment.

Music is an inseparable part of who I am. I can’t imagine my existence without it, and I truly believe that one day I’ll create something that will leave a lasting mark long after I’m gone.

So if you’re looking into my future, put on your glasses, it might be very bright.

You live on through us, through your children and grandchildren. Which means you’re still here

I know you’re proud of me and watching over me with that same smile you had when you would see me through the window coming over to visit.

Бабушка, сегодня ровно семь дней, как мы с тобой попрощались. Я все еще не могу в это поверить. Бывает ощущение, что ты просто уехала и мы скоро увидимся, но потом осознаю, что произошло, и просто теряюсь в этой пустоте.

Ты всегда была моим супергероем, самым главным примером в жизни. Моим мотиватором, другом, самым лучшим поваром и второй мамой, которая поддерживала меня на каждом шагу. Для нашей большой семьи ты — самое сердце, ядро, которое греет всех своей любовью. Ты пережила много боли в этой жизни, но, несмотря на все испытания, ты никогда не теряла светлой улыбки и продолжала дарить этому миру тепло и заботу. Ты всегда помогала молча, просто взяв и сделав то, что было нужно. Глядя на тебя, я знал, что настоящее добро существует. Потому что ты и была тем самым добром. И мы все будем стараться брать с тебя пример, чтобы нести твой свет дальше.

В тот день в больнице мой мир перевернулся. Я боялся этого момента всю свою жизнь, и когда он настал, внутри все рухнуло. Боль и пустота, которые я чувствую, не описать словами. Без тебя мир потускнел.
Сейчас я еще не понимаю, как жить дальше. Но я хочу, чтобы ты за меня не переживала. Я обещаю тебе, что я справлюсь.

Отдельно хочу сказать спасибо за то, что ты всегда верила в меня. Я никогда не забуду, как ты обрадовалась, узнав о моих первых успехах в музыке. Ты с гордостью рассказывала подругам, что твой внук — «композитор». Помню твои слова: «Давай, старайся, учись и не бросай. Всё получится». От этих слов до сих пор сжимается горло. Обещаю, я добьюсь больших высот, и ты будешь гордиться мной ещё сильнее.

Пускай у меня мало твоих фотографий, да и вместе мы фотографировались, в основном, в моём детстве — но это всё так неважно. Самое главное, что каждое мгновение рядом друг с другом мы проживали по-настоящему, на все сто процентов.

Помню, как ты рассказывала мне рецепты своих блюд, параллельно шинкуя овощи. А я, вместо того чтобы записывать или снимать на видео, просто внимательно слушал и смотрел на тебя, стараясь запомнить эти уютные моменты на всю жизнь.

Я бесконечно по тебе скучаю и люблю. Теперь ты мой ангел-хранитель и самое яркое солнце, которое будет освещать мой путь... by @cotsthecomposer
