There’s still availability over October half term and we can’t think of anywhere cosier to be! The pool will still be heated(!), fire pits and marshmallows ready for action and of course saunas all fired up 🔥

AND we’ve got some fun things lined up…

Join us in The Studio on Sun 25th Oct for an afternoon of postcard making and if you’re feeling extra spooky 👻 we’ve got a little Halloween Hunt planned around the Hamlet for Saturday 31st October.

Lampshade Painting Workshop and Winter Wellness Day on Saturday 5th December ✨

Join us for a full day of creativity and winter loveliness at Cottage Orné, with @bertievalentinelondon 🤩 Spend the day in our Studio designing and hand-painting your own lampshade, with a long lunchtime pause for a delicious meal, a sauna session and, if you’re feeling brave, an ice-bucket shower or cold plunge in the pool. A lovely chance to slow down, make something beautiful and enjoy a proper day out at our little Cornish hamlet.

Tickets start from £115 for the day including all materials and equipment, light refreshments a delicious lunch AND a sauna session (+ cold plunge/swim for the brave!)

The Dojo ~ currently set up as our movement studio, open for guests to come have a stretch and do their own practice as well as to book private yoga sessions!

We are looking into bringing a bit more equipment in, maybe a bench, heavier weights and 1 or 2 larger items such as a treadmill and bicycle. Would love to know how you would use the space and what you’d like to see in it?!

P.S. I just came across some photos of the room when we first took over the site (scroll to the end), it used to be a games room and looks quite different!! 😅 taken in Cottage Orné by @cottageorne

The Studio has always been one of my favourite spaces and I’ve been lucky enough to sneak into some of the amazing workshops that have already happened and have had the best days learning how to make wreaths, create Lino print and even have a very proudly displayed bouquet of paper flowers at home now ✨

On that note, we are lucky to have some wonderful artists over the next few weeks running some VERY exciting workshops… come join us on Sept 23rd and make your own Ikebana Vase with @caitlinjclarke and if you fancy making your own paper irises, @bertievalentinelondon will be showing you how on Oct 3rd!

We are hiring ✨

Our little Cottage Orné team is growing and we’re looking for a brilliant Duty Manager to join us here in Cornwall.

We’ve had an incredible first season with lots of new and inspiring plans in the works, which makes it a particularly exciting time to come onboard.

We’re looking for someone warm and capable who can use their initiative and will genuinely care about our guests. This is a hugely varied role where no two days are quite the same. It can be full or part time for the right person and there’s plenty of opportunity for the role to grow and evolve. Although previous relevant experience can be helpful, we’re more interested in finding the right person than ticking boxes - you mainly need the right attitude, judgement and willingness to learn 😊

Well this is crazy… 10,000 of you are now following along with our little Cornish hamlet 🫣

I still have no real idea how instagram works or how this happened so seeing so many of you following along, visiting us, sharing your stays and supporting what we’ve created feels pretty special 🥹

Finally, finally getting around to sharing more about our magical week away (the last week of the school holidays was very non stop so I have finally sat down to sort through the many, many photos)! After a pit stop in Wiltshire, we spent five hot days in Cornwall- one of my absolute favourite places in the world. There is something completely magical about the countryside and the coastline and I have so many memories of *that* train ride from St Erth to St Ives, which hugs the sea as you arrive. This time we stayed in the south-east of Cornwall at the beautiful @cottageorne;
a hamlet of recently renovated characterful country cottages a stones throw away from Looe (I'll share everything we got up to because we squeezed a *lot* of exploring in) and fell completely in love with this corner of the world. There is so much I could say, but travelling with a young family (the cottages are brilliant for children and doggos) this really was the perfect balance of having your own space (with a kitchen stocked with breakfast goodies) and being able to enjoy gorgeous shared amenities too; whether that's the heated pool (which was the perfect post-breakfast spot), sauna-with-view or tennis court (with workshops and pop ups happening throughout the year, as well).

All of the cottages are bursting with colour and comfort, and have a cosiness that truly makes you feel like whether you're in the heady heights of summer or thick in the throes of a chilly autumn; they'd be the perfect place to hunker down (either with a book outside post bedtime, or with a fireside hot chocolate after dinner). I can very much imagine long brisk seaside walks as it gets colder and being able to come back for a sauna and soak- dreamy!

We also loved the location- a short drive from so many beauty spots; whether you want an afternoon rockpooling, swimming, beach combing or enjoying a delicious dinner somewhere new. I'll share more this week, but what a place indeed 🌙 🌊 (ad/part press stay) by @cottageorne

I can’t believe summer is almost over! Where has the time gone?!?
