The Gram Art Project, founded by Shweta Bhattad @shwetabhattad , grew out of a community’s need to cultivate a sense of belonging and to express longings that usually remain hidden.

It became a practice of holding space, for members to arrive with their quietest hopes, their deepest questions, and their need to be seen.

आप सभी के प्यार और आशीर्वाद से वेदांत और नूतन की शादी 27th June को संपन्न हुई।

बहुत ही सादगी और सरलता से दोनों इस बंधन में बंधना चाहते थे और इसी वजह से कोर्ट मैरेज का रास्ता चुना।

रीता दीदी (@myphera) ने जो फेरे के वक्त वचन बोले जाते है उसका सीधा और सुंदर अनुवाद हिंदी में भेजा था, नूतन और वेदांत दोनों ने साथ में वो ख़ुद ही पढा ।

एक दूसरे को बीजो और खेत के फूलो से बनी माला पहनाई। सिंदूरी के बीजो के रंग से बना टीका लगाया। हल्दी भी खेत की ही लगायी।

अदिति, मधुरा और उसकी पूरी टीम (@cotton.stainers) ने वेदांत और नूतन के लिए शादी कपड़े बनाये जो अपने खेत के देसी कपास से हात से बुने और सिले हुए, फूलो के रंगों से रंगे हुए थे।

अंगूठी भी हाथीं से एक दूसरे के लिए देसी कपास के धागो से बनाई और पहनाई। जो गाँव की माहीलाए अपने साथ पिछले 10 सालों से काम कर रही है उन्होंने गहने नूतन के लिए बीजो से बनाये।

आप सभी का हमारे इस निर्णय के लिए साथ, प्यार और आशीर्वाद के वजह से ही हम इस महत्वपूर्ण कार्य को सहजता से संपन्न कर पाए। by @cotton.stainers

We have an exciting news to share! Remember we were in Hyderabad in December 2025 to share our work with you all as part of @indiahandmadecollective for a 3 day exhibition alongside some of the most sustainable brands working on ground in India.. We are coming back again, but this time to stay! We, as part of @indiahandmadecollective are setting up a permanent pavilion which includes a shop and an experience center in Hyderabad. Regular market clothing undergoes chemical dyeing which is one of the worst polluting industries to ever exist. It generally contaminates all nearby water sources, alters soil pH, blocks light for aquatic photosynthesis etc. This not only results in death of all aquatic life who otherwise called these water bodies their home but also renders the water from nearby water sources unfit for human consumption and even results in diseases like cancer in humans.
In Cotton Stainersat @gramartproject , we naturally dye our handspun organic indigenous cotton fabric in small batches and at our studio itself. The blue you see in this video is extracted from #indigo plant.

Let's try and switch to mindful and conscious choices.

In last post, we asked you what was in making and some of you guessed it right. It was this very jacket!

Specially curated - Indigenous cotton, organically grown, handspun, seeds used as buttons, naturally dyed with Indigo and Marigold - crossed Indian subcontinent to pass by the Norwegian ocean and blending with it.
