Sold out. Urgent. Unforgettable. 🔥🌎

Our Environmental Spotlight "When Home Is On Fire" lit up Day 2 with powerful storytelling that brought the climate crisis into sharp, immediate focus. From the deeply moving music video of "Climate Crisis" to the striking visuals in "Embers" and the award winning BC Premiere of "The Fire in Our Hearts," this block captured what it means to witness, endure, and act.

With a full house and incredible audience energy, this became one of the defining moments of the festival. Both "Embers" and "The Fire in Our Hearts" earned nominations for Best Environmental Film, with "The Fire in Our Hearts" taking home the award on our final day. 🏆

The conversation deepened during our "From Witness to Action" panel, moderated by Executive Director @s1dartha, where filmmakers and community voices reflected on wildfire realities and the vital role of Indigenous leadership in driving collective responsibility and meaningful change.

We closed the screening block with a beautiful catered reception from @honeycombzcatering, generously sponsored by @swisscg_vancouver, bringing our community together in reflection, connection, and purpose.

This is what it looks like when film meets impact. Where cinema meets social change. 💛

Excited that @thefireinourhearts will be screened both at @worldfesthouston and at @sundarprize on April 24th. This is a very personal story to me as I immigrated to this region as a teenager and it deals with with a subject matter that needs more attention as we experience more wildfires in B.C.

Thank you to everyone that made this film possible and special thanks to my friends @andrewhuculiak for editing this great teaser and to @caynemckenzie for coming up with such a powerful musical score ❤️🙏🏻🎥🔥 #wildfire #community #documentary taken in Grassy Plains, British Columbia by @countingants
