🏆 From the UEFA Women’s EURO to the FIFA Club World Cup and Wimbledon, the world is tuned in to major sporting events right now. Sports bring people together across cultures—but they also come with a heavy carbon footprint: an estimated 30–60 million tonnes of CO₂ per year.

🌍 So how can we make sports more sustainable?

Meet Ipsi, Program Director at Count Us In, a beVisioneers Partner. Count Us In is mobilizing individuals and organizations to take bold steps on climate—and their latest initiative, Earth FC, is uniting football/soccer fans, players, clubs, and communities to protect the future of the game and the planet. ⚽🌱

Earth FC is building momentum towards COP30, encouraging fans everywhere—from grassroots pitches to the world’s biggest stadiums—to take simple, impactful climate actions. Head to their website joinearthfc.org to follow the campaign!

We’re proud to have organizations like Count Us In in our beVisioneers Ecosystem who continue to inspire us.

👀 Next week: meet one of our Fellows who’s also taking on sustainability in soccer—stay tuned.

🎓 Universities across Canada are answering the call for change! 🇨🇦 The push for more plant-based options is driven by student demand and a commitment to sustainability. 🌿 Western University hit its 40% plant-based menu goal ahead of schedule, with a fully vegan outlet planned for 2024. UBC aims for 80% plant-based by 2025, and Concordia plans a 30% reduction in meat, dairy, and eggs by then. 🍽️ It's more than just food—it's a step towards a greener future.
