Maybe it’s the hay bales, pumpkins, and kids racing through a maze while the grown-ups enjoy the laughter. Maybe it’s the old-fashioned fall festival games, and an enchanted walk through a Renaissance village - there’s something nostalgic & a little bit spooky about Halloween in a small town.

Stay close to County Line in Rice for an adventure patch, wander through the hay maze in Ennis, or head to Waxahachie for a magical experience. Then come back to the red barn, turn down the lights, grab the blankets and end the night with a scary movie in the theater.

Fall is the season to gather with your favorite people 🍂
to meet for breakfast and order the pancakes, pick up something sweet from a local bakery, take the backroads, buy the pumpkins, and bring home the flowers. It’s a good excuse to stop somewhere cozy for lunch, sit down for a game, and watch a movie upstairs.

We love fall weekends shared with people you don’t get to see often enough - that’s what makes this time of year feel so special.

The weather is about to change...and so is the way we spend our weekends. 🍂

Soon, we’ll trade hiding from the afternoon heat for lingering a little longer outside.

Morning coffee becomes the beginning of an adventure. A quick trip to a small town downtown turns into lunch, a little shopping, and “let’s walk around a little longer.”

We’ll take the backroads instead of the highway, and stop somewhere we’ve been meaning to try. There’s just something about fall that makes us want to get in the car, roll the windows down, and rediscover the little places close to home.

Consider this your reminder: Sometimes the best weekends are coffee, good food, small-town streets, Texas backroads, and nowhere you need to be until Monday.

It’s always nice to have a place to slow down at the end of a busy day ~ exploring with the family, working on a job site, or cheering at the race track all day ~ you’re tired, hungry, and ready to call it a night.
Then you turn down the road to see the red barn and a golden-hour sky - and the day feels a little quieter.

Grab something cold and sit on the porch for a while. Take a hot shower. Stretch out on the couch. Find your bed and turn on your favorite show. Or just stand outside for another minute and watch the last bit of daylight disappear.

That’s what we want County Line Texas to feel like at the end of your day. Not simply somewhere to sleep, but somewhere you’re genuinely glad to come back to.
A comfortable home base for family trips, race weekends, work stays, and all the busy days in between.

Long before there was County Line Texas, there was this barn ❤️

It was built by our family and, for years, had a very different purpose. Downstairs was a workshop, surrounded by tools, equipment and all the things that accumulate in a building that’s meant for fixing things. Upstairs wasn’t a room at all. Exposed framing, plywood floors and walls, and a lot of imagination to see anything beyond what was right in front of us.
⭐️ But we could see it.

Not simply a renovated building, but a place where people could come together. Where families could celebrate something important. Friends could spend an evening laughing over games. Kids could race upstairs for movie night. Someone could step onto the balcony at the end of the evening and watch the sun disappear over the Texas countryside.

We wanted to preserve what made this place special while giving it a completely new reason to be here. And that’s a really big part of why we created County Line Texas.

We believe places can hold memories - the ones our family made here before us, the ones we’re making here now - and, hopefully, the ones our guests take with them. Same barn. New memories. ❤️

This October is going to be EXTRA sweet because there are 5 Saturdays! 🍭That means:

County Line isn’t simply where you sleep between activities – some of the best parts of your trip might happen without ever leaving the property.

Head out to the red barn, grab a snack or something cold from the mini fridge, sit down to a tabletop game, challenge someone to cornhole, and catch up while everyone decides what movie to watch.

Then head upstairs to our home theater, with a big screen, surround sound and comfortable seating made for settling in for the night. Pick an old favorite or find something you haven’t seen. Bring the snacks. Turn down the lights - and stay awhile.

There’s a moment every evening when everything gets a little quieter, the heat of the day begins to fade, and the sky starts putting on a show. ➡️

The back porch is one of our favorite places to sit back and enjoy the sunset. It’s where conversations last a little longer. Where the rocking chairs invite you to stay a few more minutes. Where the dragonfly lights come on, the horizon changes color, andthe day finally slows down.

☀️ No plans to go out because it’s August in Texas and it’s HOT? Stay with us and you can sleep in a little later, find something good to binge (there’s a TV in every room), claim your favorite spot on the couch, or pull a game out of the cabinet. We’ve got the perfect place for a *just stay inside* kind of day.
