Adding texture to a furniture panel. Butternut wood. The secret: a good sharp chisel.
Really looking forward to showing the finished product. It flows like water. #couragewoodstudio #interiordesign #woodcarving #furniture #muskoka by @couragewoodstudio

Months of creative hustle condensed into a 90 second reel. The creation of Vera’s Vanity. Hand-shaped White oak. The sink is petrified wood. Love the bathroom tile, and eclipse lighting! #Interiors #interiordesign #furnituredesign #sculpture #bathroomvanity by @couragewoodstudio

This room is what sealed the deal when we were house hunting, not for what it was when we first saw it (3rd pic) but for what it could be (1st pic). The in-between stage (2nd pic), when we lived in the house with our old furniture while I concocted plans for the remodel, was awkward but it gave me the time and space to plan thoughtfully. 🤎

Coffee table and sofa are custom designs from my studio. DM for enquiries.

As I reflect on the year that has gone by, I am so thankful to all my incredible clients who pushed me to step outside the imaginary creative boundaries that I often impose upon myself.
This was a year that I made peace with the ever-changing and non-static space that makers often find themselves in, and settled into the profound truth that when I shape and create, I am fully in my life’s purpose.
I chose the name Courage Wood Studio because the word “cor”, which is at the root of the word courage, is the latin word for heart. I continue to make it my intention to step forward creatively this new year with love, and may everything I shape and create come straight from my heart.

A final thought: In a rapidly changing world where we are bombarded with AI images and video, I find it important to point out that AI can NEVER replace the Heart to Brain to Hands connection of a human maker, who was made in the image of the Great Creator.

From my heart,

Andy

A store sign that I hand-carved in Spanish Cedar, using only hammer and chisels. Lightly painted with acrylic colours, partially sanded to give the patina of time. I drew my design inspiration from the Parisian Art Nouveau style. Midnight in Paris vibes.
