The last Sunday of September's creature roundup 🐸

ID: Spotted Painted Reed Frogs; Brown Garden Snails; Smooth Land Slug and a Red-knobbed Coot.

Could it be? Mushroom Monday 🍄

These Inkcap mushrooms come from the Order Agaricales.

Inkcap mushrooms undergo a process called delinquescence where they literally melt themselves to become a puddle of black ink.

I should be studying Cost and Management Accounting (at 22:35PM) but I yearn for the wetlands 🌾

Pretend the wheat emoji is actually riparian vegetation.

We're going into Winter here in the Southern Hemisphere and I am beginning to miss the small interactions I used to see on the way to university 🐝

Thankfully one species I see often at the university is bees. Bees are considered primary consumers in the ecosystem because they feed directly on producers such as flowering plants 🌸

Today's practical involved a 5km hike up Tierkop (meaning Tiger Head) 🐯

What a breathless (literally) experience filled with plenty of information about fauna, flora, fungi and mushrooms 🍄‍🟫

Thank goodness it's Monday, that means I can post about mushrooms again 🍄‍🟫 #mushroommonday

I've recently been given a book called Entangled Life which is about how fungi and mushrooms connect the living world (thank you @sekhmet_sun).

I'm so grateful to live in a place where I can find fungi and mushrooms with ease. It definitely makes waking up early to go to university worth it.

@inaturalistorg Identifies this mushroom as a white parasol mushroom.
