Old Porsches, conversation that run too long, and the kind of company you hope to never lose. That’s the good stuff.

A few days spent chasing the sun, riding around, and letting California do what California does. Old machines, familiar faces, and enough time away to remember why I like any of this in the first place. Not a bad place to get lost for a minute. taken in Arts District, Los Angeles by @couture_carpenter

There comes a point where you either keep building someone else’s dream, or you gamble on your own.

For years I chased old Porsches because they made sense to me. They deserved to be understood, not just repaired. Somewhere along the way I realized I wanted more than a shop. I wanted a place with a point of view. Now that place is becoming real. Every decision from the cars that come through the door, to the people I work with, to the standard every bolt gets held to is mine to make. That’s equal parts freedom and responsibility, and I wouldn’t trade either.

This isn’t the finish line. It’s the first page. Here’s to air cooled engines, dirty hands, impossible standards, and building something worth leaving behind. @kinder.air.cooled taken in Richmond, Virginia by @couture_carpenter

“There is beer in the fridge, don’t mind the ammunition”
This was the last text Chris sent before I arrived at his beautiful 74’ VW westfalia that he had readied for me to stay in on the shoreline of their lake. In the morning I was greeted by Chis and Fin with coffee and breakfast in what could only be described as their bat cave. As many of you know Chris is on the leading edge of some ground breaking project such as the “Flat 8” and a 718 that rivals the original with some modern twists. The combined talent and passion Chris and Fin have for these car is remarkable and will surely be in the automotive history books after we are all long gone. taken in Minnesota by @couture_carpenter

“See you in the morning for coffee”
For some time I’ve followed Jacob as he has travelled by bus to snow covered landscapes. His eye for video work is second to none. I’m sure if you’ve the slightest of taste you’ve probably watched in awe like me. I was fortunate enough to spend a morning talking projects with Jacob, from early 356 Porsches to snowboards and terrible old British machines. taken in Oregon , USA by @couture_carpenter

Went in to @lepapillon.garage expecting to kick some tires and feel a fabric or two. What I found was a loving family with open arms. @dshewaspretty is as real as they come, the genuine article, trying to be nobody but himself. taken in LA Art District by @couture_carpenter
