🚨NEW SONG ALERT? 🚨

I always write pretty upbeat, uplifting, encouraging songs.

But life isn’t always upbeat & encouraging.

I think the deepest joys can come from our seasons of greatest pain.

But only if we stop long enough to notice..

That the greatest artist of all time is still writing our story…

and we best to lean into his chest to learn the melody.

(that’s pretty much how all my spontaneous songwrites go - I ask somebody to give me a couple words - Japan, heartbreak, paper & London in this case) and then Holy Spirit cooks

Sorry if I sound angry… I’m just frustrated. I have chosen not to speak on music industry/cancel culture issues for so long,

But nobody else has an issue speaking their mind so I think it’s time for those who see otherwise to be free to speak.

Praise God for the second amendment.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in a season of transition for the past six months or so.

And now with our baby girl here — a new season for me personally has officially begun.

I think one of the biggest things I’m realizing is that more responsibility doesn’t necessarily mean less ambition.

If anything, becoming a father of two has made me more ambitious… and way less interested in chasing everything.

I want to provide well for my family.

But I also don’t want to spend their whole childhood building a life for them that I was barely present to enjoy with them.

Maybe responsibility doesn’t kill ambition. Maybe it disciplines it. Maybe it changes what actually feels worth building.

I’m still figuring this one out.

What about you? Has more responsibility made you want your dreams less — or has it changed which dreams feel worth chasing?

A big shift is happening in my life and that of my family’s …

In September of 2025 one of my songs took off on social media…

Unbeknownst to everybody in the world my family and I were going to one of the toughest seasons…

Financially and legally - we were in a big insurance battle looming over our home…

By God‘s grace, January of this year we were able to sort everything out and begun rebuilding our nearly gutted home (water damage)… by @covenantolatunde
