Rejected by the people who should have loved him most.

Jephthah's story begins with rejection.
He was born under circumstances he didn't choose. Because his mother was a prostitute, his own brothers drove him away and denied him his inheritance (Judges 11:1–2).

Imagine carrying a label that wasn't yours.
Imagine being rejected, not by strangers, but by your own family.

Yet God never saw Jephthah through the lens of his rejection. While people saw his past, God saw his purpose. The very people who cast him out later came back because they needed the leader God had been preparing all along.

Rejection is not your identity.

It is what happened to you—not who you are.

Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly chose people who had been overlooked, abandoned and rejected:
• Joseph was rejected by his brothers.
• David was overlooked by his own father.
• Ruth was an outsider.
• Moses was rejected by his own people.
• Jesus Himself was "despised and rejected by men" (Isaiah 53:3).

If you've been rejected, you're in good company.

God has a habit of building purpose from places where people expected failure.

Your beginning does not determine your destiny. Your identity is found in Christ, not in the labels people placed on you.

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" — 1 John 3:1
